Geek Revolt writes "Now—before anyone jumps to conclusions, I like Bioware, I think they’re one of the best studios in gaming. This article is only meant to point out a few things they should fix about their games. Here are five problems with Bioware games."

EA is laying off an unknown number of individuals from across its Battlefield teams, including workers at Criterion, Dice, Ripple Effect, and Motive Studios, IGN understands.
When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!
cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The free-to-play reboot topped 15 million players in under three weeks, but EA now claims it needs to reshape the development team.
The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers
lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6
Wait,
The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.
NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.
EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
I completely agree w/ all 5 of those
@ Focker420
Yeah they make great games, but they all share some of the same problems. Hopefully they shake things up a little for Mass Effect 3. Although, even if they don't, I'm positive it'll still be the best "multiplatform" game this year.
Why can't anyone ever complain about bad games? Where's the "Don't make a crappy game like Section 8" articles?
Let's talk about how shitty Obsidian is once in a while.
Bioware gets criticized and viewed through a microscope because they are the upper echelon of game developers.
No shit, you're going to find similarities within their games.
It's called STRUCTURE!!!
There has to be a twist because that's what you shamalamadingong lovers want. If they omit the twist, you'll say the game's plot was too straightforward.
As for team-building, that's a trademark of Bioware. It's not really a problem because it's HOW you get those teammates that makes the game great.
And all of the problems that are mentioned here, especially the 'illusion of choice,' are characteristics of most RPGs.
The developers don't have time to come up with a million different branching plotlines based on the large number of different variations of decisions you can make in their games.
That's why they HAVE TO give you the "illusion of choice."
Video games are all about illusions. And if Bioware can do a good job of deceiving most players by making them think they HAVE a choice, then they've done their job.
Having the same formula is yet another trait that characterizes most developers spanning all genres.
It's not just a problem with Bioware.
Video gamers just aren't smart people. They like to think they are, but really they have no problem with playing games with crappy stories and cliche'd characters because they'll just tell you that all that matters is the gameplay.
If it's fun, they don't care how crappy and unoriginal everything else is.
And I wish your statement about trilogies was more true than you think.
Bioware has yet to make a third Kotor game. After handing off the second game to Obsidian, they never made a proper Kotor 3. This Old Republic MMO does not qualify.
So why don't you please make an article talking about some other developer worthy of scorn, such as Obsidian.
I see studios closing down right and left and still that piece of shit B-Team stands.
I hate their involvement in Kotor and in New Vegas. They showed the world that they're a pretty mediocre dev when they made Alpha Protocol. They deserve negative articles.
Bioware is just really famous and praised. It's "hip" to diss them.
Bioware are losing their touch. when will we see a Star Wars game thats not a MMO, maybe KOTOR3?
then again, if it gets the ME2 treatment i don't even want it.
