The ‘Arrival’ is finally upon us, marking a goodbye to ‘Mass Effect 2′ and setting the stage for ‘Mass Effect 3,’ but is this welcome party for the Reapers worth crashing?

Yes, I will be playing this.

Megaton5522d ago

Watched someone on YouTube finish it in an hour, including about 10 minutes of not knowing where to go/what to do. This shoulda been some free promotional thing.

I agree! I loved Mass Effect 2, but I hate when the mess with the story on some DLC that not everybody wants to buy. Why would I have to buy this to know what is the story for Mass Effect 3 if I paid for the game to "supposedly" know the story.

That is why I stop caring about Assassin's Creed too, because even though they launched a game instead of DLC, they know this was a glorified DLC (a la Halo ODST) that continued the story, and what about the people that cannot/do not want to buy the content?

Ohh.. Prince of Persia did that too!

I don't mind paying a little extra for substantial story DLC, but this is lame. Charging the same price as Kasumi and Overlord for significantly less content. The whole thing looked half-assed. Massive audio issues from what I saw in the playthrough as well.

Imo, the only DLC that was really worth buying for ME2 was Lair of the Shadowbroker - hell, that was better than most of the actual game.

I liked Kasumi and Overlord.

Kasumi offered a full-fledged character with full vanilla game dialogue and random interactions with certain environment pieces, plus a superior SMG. Her shadow whatever move was pretty cool, too.

Overlord didn't offer as much beyond the DLC, but lasted me 2.5 hours and had a pretty interesting story. Would have been more comfortable with Overlord at $5, though.

I returned my friend's 360 and his copy of ME2 four days before Shadow Broker came out, so I still haven't had a chance to play it (but I have watched a playthrough). I own ME2 for PC, but I don't wanna deal with that retarded BioWare points system to get the DLC. Always hearing stories about people having their money essentially stolen by EA. Being charged without receiving points.

Took me nearly 2 hours while playing on veteran so not bad. A fairly nice set up for mass effect 3. Given what happened at the end though, I wonder what repercussions might happen for Shepard when all is said and done. Probably nothing :p

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
