First Look: Operation Flashpoint: Red River – Rolling Thunder Gameplay

XG247 recently attended a preview event for Operation Flashpoint Red River, they managed to grab some CAM footage for you guys to marvel at.

They played through a co-operative mission entitled ‘Rolling Thunder’. The main objective is to protect your convoy from RPGs, IEDS and any other sort of threat. It was quite a handful.

This footage was taken via CAM and is not the full version of the game.

Enjoy guys

That looked really boring...

Daves5557d ago

What no scores popping up on heads when you get a kill, or achievements slamming onto the screen with some metal guitar?

Hmmm.

You boring and mine may differ.

Kon5557d ago

You're like every CoD fan. I imagine you playing Arma 2, the most tactical FPS out there, you would be bored to hell. "WHAT, No Killstraks??? No Prestige Levels???" lol

Psychotica5557d ago

I don't play COD and I do play Arma 2 with all the expansion packs...

Its just his opinion, damn. I personally thought it looked good, but thats just me. I enjoyed Dragon Rising, it was an experience I've never seen before. A real war simulator, or pretty close to it. I enjoyed the realism, and even though I never beat it, I thought it was an awesome game. I may buy Red River to support Codemasters.

CyberCam5557d ago (Edited 5557d ago )

Dragon Rising was great in concept but poor in execution. I did love the realism but the graphics (on the PS3) was not very good, especially trying to locate enemies in the draw distance. I did finish the whole game... twice and had the best co-op experience in my 30+ years of gaming.

But sadly it was easily forgettable because of all the issues it had. Sadly you're right, it will be overlooked because of the other big titles releases around the same time. They should release it in July, they'll have better success with it then.

Xfanboy5557d ago (Edited 5557d ago )

looks like this will be over shadowed by big titles though..

The commentator is priceless! I'm on the floor laughing!

"I'm tryin to be... hmm cool... it doesn't really work out for me" LOL!

"go back to HumVee, which DOES run me over... hmm... which is always nice... they hmm run you over, if you decide to run at them... I guess" LOL!

"we're under attack AGAIN... it's not a nice neighborhood" LOL!

" I haven't been drinking or anything..." LOL!

"I'm pretty useless as a teammate right now" LOL!

"All in the back hangin' out, talking about... what we do for a living... ordering pizza" LOL!

This video has made my day, THANKS enkeixpress!

Off Topic: John man I can't wait for your game!

Some mediocre - crap games there. Couldn't even include any Codemasters racing games? It's the only thing they're good at.

Canadiangamernet4313d ago

Including the Dirt series in the bundle would have been awesome but i wouldn't say they are crappy games. I liked Overlord 1 & 2 and both Operation Flashpoint are decent FPS the other one are so so for me.

guitarded774313d ago

Like I said... crappy to mediocre. I liked Overlord too. Didn't care for Operation Flashpoint. But eve liking Overlord, I have no illusions that it isn't a mediocre game.

AntsPai4313d ago

Even though it's still technically a good deal, the whole $5 or £4 thing annoys me. Humble bundle doesn't do this. No thanks.

Operation Flashpoint: Red River - The Shooter That Could Have Been The Greatest

Mobile & Apps: "One of the most underrated shooters of the previous generation was Operating Flashpoint: Red River for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. With all its problems, I believe this is a game that is worth playing, however, it is not too hard to see why the game didn't quite kick off, as it should have."

I liked it, didn't quite finish it though. Maybe I will now.

Codj4871d ago

Loved this game, it was dumbed down from Dragon Rising but still an enjoyable game. Was still offputting to people looking for instant/non stop action

Theangrybogan4871d ago

Ha! Some colleagues and I are actually planning on hitting this one up tonight. Great game.
