Sometimes people hate on great games because they are just popular, other times because they themselves aren't good at said game.

Personally I know tons of people who hate on Halo, mostly ones who are terrible at it. Honestly Halo takes the most skill at to be good at then any other FPS, it can really take dedication and practice, unlike a COD game or something like that, which is more spray and pray type.

I hate CoD because it has no learning curve whatsoever so anyone can get good easily. Then a bunch of people come in and think they are the second coming because they were able to get a nuke in a game so they start to brag about their epic skills. Since they don't suck at it they get all their friends to play it then their friends play it and so on, it's like a virus. And because of all the people buying it, the game sells a shit ton and makes Bobby Kotick rich. Looking at the success, I think other company's try to copy the formula (All eyes on you Medal of Honor) and fail, wasting money and development time that could have been used to make new original games.

Basically, the fanbase is annoying it's giving Kotick more money anyone can be good at it and it's hurting the gaming industry as a whole. Killzone I'm ok with.

I think some people just do suck. Like everyone complaining that LBP's controls are too floaty. Never bothered me one bit. KZ2 was announced to be unplayable because of the controls. I played it to the end without them causing any problems. KZ3 people keep saying that infaltrator class is hard to spot. Had no problem catching one acting suspicious and blasting his @$$.

Modern gamers cry and moan if the gameplay and controls aren't perfect. There is no adapting to anything or trying to overcome a challenge. The infaltrator has an advantage you don't like, so you want him gone instead of changing tactics to compensate. Did you know that drones and turrents see through disguises and invisibility? Just use more of them to weed out the enemy. But no you prefer to suck and cry about it instead.
