Blockbuster filed for bankruptcy protection last year and has been closing stores ever since. Blockbuster today, blu-ray tomorrow.

It's just getting easier and easier to stream what you want. Everybody has a favorite movie but how many times can you watch it. With the exception of multi-player and then even so, is there any reason to keep a hard copy of a game or movie anymore???

On demand, while rather a crude way of saying it, is the way of the future. No disc's or storage space needed except the virtual reality kind...delete it when your done.

It seems to me that brick and mortar stores of anykind are ALL going to disappear. Want to go shopping...go on line. Look at clothes, maybe some fruit, running low on bread, milk and eggs...type it up and some kid fresh out of high school shows up and drops it off.

10-15 years ago we had a store where you walked in, looked through a catalogue, picked what you wanted, wrote down a code and handed it to a clerk...sorta like a fast food chain only with merchandise. That's the future for EVERTHING except you will do it on your phone, lap top or Tv...type it in and some one will show up with what you ordered...a bit scary if you ask me but people will DEMAND it.

Maybe we will all have virtual reality lives too. You won't even have to leave your house...O_o...Sounds like something from the Matrix doesn't it...lol...don't get me raging on that concept.

im glad these aholes are going out of business!!! i was a little annoyed wen they had 3$ movie rentals but now their new releases are 5$ each. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!

Sorry but 10 bucks for a 5 day game rental that you had to return 3 times in one day cause the discs were too scratched up is utter failure. That's always been the case with our 4 local blockbusters and I'm glad they are all now closed. I pay 15 bucks a month now for as many games as I can play with gamefly, and not once has there been so much as a lint on the discs. The price was wrong and the service was horrid. That's why blockbuster died. Not to mention for some reason, they carried tons of games no one wanted to play, and never enough of the triple a titles everyone wanted. Don't get me wrong, I would much more enjoy a more personal in store experience with my rentals, but blockbuster just didn't do it right.
