DasReviews writes: "Codemasters has just confirmed that Operation Flashpoint: Red River will be released on April 21, 2011 for PC, X360 and PS3. Red River is the sequel of the reborned series that was developed from Codemasters themselves. I hope Code Disasters do a better job than the previous flashpoint game.

I paid £4.99 for it off Steam and still felt ripped off!

Hellsvacancy5570d ago

Im not fallin for another one of those games, i shall rent RR, hopefully itll b good (i dont want games to b bad) if its ill go buy it

ASSASSYN 36o5570d ago

Compete with arma. I seriously doubt it. No vehicle use and no editor on consoles. Both of those were on the first flashpoint on Xbox. And yet again they said the hell with them. This game is going to be good. But it won't have an once of substance that the original and arma series had.

MAJ0R5570d ago

umm no I'm not gona buy this crappy game, it will be nothing like Arma

believe me

I'm actually looking forward to Red River.. I enjoyed the "simulation" style that codemasters went for with OF:Dracgon Rising, particularly the squad commands, character movement, and the fact that your bullets had a true trajectory (which was a nice little challenge seeing that most engagments took place at range, and not close quarters)

My only gripes were that, despite available vehichles, most of the travelling around the levels was done on foot as vehichles werent always readily available from the start of each mission. Also, the challenge of "simulated" combat was a nice change of pace from the run-n-shoot variety of military games out there, however, there were some game levels and objectives that were just TOO hard!

'It marked the first time the studio had used the license in 18 years since 2022’s Colin McRae Rally 3.'

Can you not get AI to do proofreading?

TheColbertinator384d ago

Weird article written by a bot.

In any case I knew EA would ruin Codemasters.

badboyz09383d ago (Edited 383d ago )

Codemasters will likely close soon😞

Here’s the deal with this bullsh*t, and this is the single reason I f*cking hate digital, this wouldn’t be so much an issue if these people would give an announcement before they pull their games so people have a chance to get them before they’re gone. I mean, how hard is that to do?

Like, I prefer digital for the convenience of it and making me less of a hoarder, but stuff like this can drive me up the wall and I’m aware this also happens with physical games, but you can still acquire a game from eBay, though all scalped to hell, whereas digital you’re SOL… unless you have a PC.

spicelicka427d ago

Not to mention they also replace old base games with "bundles" back at full price. Some of the old and shittiest COD games are still full price on digital stores.

phatak427d ago (Edited 427d ago )

yup everything you said is correct, but with digital you can also acquire it lol thanks to piracy, thats what made me a pirate . Spec ops the line got delisted last year and I just pirated it and never looked back, unfortunately these bigger publishers dont care about older games so dont even give a reminder, so if they dont even care about their own older games, why should I help them with their new games, ill pirate those as well. GOG is the best, you dont even need to pirate those, the games literally dont have any drm, and you can keep the files permanently too.

Michiel1989427d ago

the reason why i hate digital is because in 20 years when the servers go down, you can't play single player games anymore because shitty fucking companies want you to login to some arbitrary service to pad the numbers.

When a company like GoG does better than a titan like Sony, you know how terrible the state of gaming is.

Vits427d ago

Technically you are not wrong, only forgot to add Rights Management after the "digital".

CantThinkOfAUsername427d ago

These games had exactly 0 players. If you haven't played any of them by now you really didn't care in the slightest. Suddenly you're dying to play one of these classic turds? Sail to cs.rin.ru.

MrWood427d ago

Your right, if you click on the article vs the clickbait picture showing new and modern games, they are all old games I’ve never even heard of.

Zeke68427d ago

If you never heard of any of these games, are you even a gamer? ;)

To Sony, and so many other companies in this industry, the short-term satisfaction and happiness of their shareholders means so much more to them than their employees, their products, and their customers.

Yi-Long812d ago

Apologies, don't know how the above comment ended up here while it clearly should have gone to other article about the Sony lay-offs. Please delete.
