MobileNews Blog: 7 years ago Sony showed their first portable console – PlayStation Portable. Its successor codenamed NGP is already revealed and Sony is preparing to launch it this year. We don’t want to compare to find out which is better (that would be ridiculous), we want to review what have changed and find out is it PSP’s evolution or a brand new revolutionary console.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

Xbox boss Asha Sharma has discussed how component shortages will impact the company's plans for Project Helix.
This kind of proves this is an after thought product, most products like this are in r&d 5 years before they start mass producing. So they typically have the cost of components and things worked out long before assembly starts.
This is an assumption still, but I wouldn’t be surprised if project helix is similar to Scalebound, perfect dark and sod3. They had an idea but no actual execution other than concept stage. Being impacted by the ram shortage likely would also put this device 3-4 years out.
I’m not even sure MS has that endurance with Xbox yet
Helix is going to be stupidly expensive
Instead of leaning into smarter upscaling techniques they're brute forcing hardware that will cost them dearly and it remains to be seen if it's genuinely going to provide a meaningful differential
I know in the oc.doace people like to brag about not using frame gen or dlss to get to high on a game but for the majority of players they happily use those technologies without a second thought
That's going to be ps6 vs Helix
It's called systematic inflationary. Yes we get it Microsoft, keep raising in the name ofall kinds of stuffs
Honestly if there was thing I learned from this generation is that new consoles arnt day one anymore.
I can wait 1-3 years.

FuRyu revealed on Friday its Exstetra fantasy role-playing game is getting an HD remaster that will launch this summer on Steam.
This comparison seems to make quite a few assumptions. The biggest to me seems to be the user interface. I'd be really surprised if the new portable shipped with anything other than an XMB-based interface optimized for a touch screen experience. At this point I see the new interface as something like the PS3's boomerang controller. Until we see a production model of the new portable running final firmware I wouldn't put too much stock in that.
I also like the resolution comparison picture. Very clever visual, but way over-simplified.
There's some stuff that I agree with, too. I'm surprised the thing got bigger in light of what we saw with PSPGo. But I'm kind of glad it did, though.
There is no Comparison, I have had a PSP. Im telling you.
SECOND ANALOG STIK FTW!
Guy forgot to make mention of the two cameras and microphone on the device as well as the gps and 3g.
Cant really ask for L2&R2 buttons, because those can always be alocated on the touchpad on the back.
But L3&R3 is something I would like to see in the final design of this device. Sony has to find a way to make it happen, I like using the analog sticks for scoping and things like that.
Add that clicking sound and function to them micro analog sticks Sony avoid any possible future complaints.
