I disagree with the score. Solviing everything to 100% took me about 8 hours, so I wouldn't call this short

Bathyj5548d ago

I haven't played this yet, but everything I've read said its stellar.

What I want to know is, is this game really a 6 or is it a victim of a crappy review system where a score plummets 20% with every point thats dropped?

Just curious as to what people think of a 5/5 system.

mrv3215548d ago

A X/5 system is good

Is 92% really inferior to 93% while a 3/5 is still good but not as good as 4/5 or 5/5.

Giantbomb uses it to great effect. I know a 1/5 sucks and a 5/5 game is a must buy but is a 90% from IGN still a must buy?

Bathyj5548d ago

See, I think the increments are too high. I do see 3/5 as a good score at all. Its barely over 50%. If this were school we'd be talking about an average C student.

Even 4/5 I would see as good, but not great. 80% is not top shelf. Not to say the game cant be enjoyed. I'm just saying, thats a big gap between just good enough and outstanding.

Now if they do .5 or .25 increments, that allows for a bit of nuance in their scoring but alot of these sites with this method seem not to do that. And if they do, why not just go out of 10 or out of 100 and be done with it.

No wonder we cant get any consistency in this industry.

And then you get some that use 6 stars or 4 stars. God, dont get me started. That might be ok if reviewing a steak, but I think a better gauge is needed for games. Its as ridiculous as going 2 thumbs up.

I should have replied to you. Gamerant allows for .5 stars. Check their X-Men Arcade or Ghost Trick reviews.

I think this is the lowest score I've seen given to this game? I like it as its a welcome breaks from other games.

Gamerant allows for half stars.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
