Battlefield 3: What we know so Far

Looking at the current Battlefield franchise, one could argue that it is "more realistic" call of duty. Some people will disagree with that statement, however the authenticity of real warfare breathes on a player in much larger amounts than any of the call of duties ever did, in multiplayer that is. This article features confirmed news regarding Battlefield 3.

"Battlefield 3: What we know so Far". What I know is I want this game so BAD! I'm primarily a PC gamer and I've really been disappointed with the COD series as of late (18 players in Black Ops and MW2, what's up with that?). DICE is my favorite FPS developer and can't wait for their newest creation. BF3 is going to be awesome!

Lets hope the PC version doesnt get compromised due to Consoles.

FanboyPunisher5660d ago

Consoles gimp our Master Race systems.

I tried the multiplayer in some of those new COD titles, but they are a joke compared to Battlefield 2. I hope for a worthy successor to that game.

(with Counter Strike being the Godfather)

DICE is on it's A game and Battlefield is it's flagship IP. There's No doubt in my mind that Battlefiled 3 PC will be even more ground breaking than Battlefield 2 and bring even more glory back to the PC gaming Master Race.

DICE will make BF3 for the PC separate. They already have redesigned the Frostbite Engine 2 and worked out all the kinks by learning from BFBC2 PC. The simple fact that the new Frostbite Engine 2 will NO longer support DX9 is music to my ears.

No DX9 support insures that the PC version is separate and is not a console port and will be graphically intense when using DX11. BF3 won't be exclusive which is good cause consolers do deserve something better than Black Ops. Over 25 Million DX11 GPUs sold in 1 year by AMD alone means gamers are ready for DX9 to Die!!

In the meantime new BFBC2 maps plus Vietnam will keep me warmed up until it's GO Time for real in BF3 PC.

I'm happy that I'm a PC player :)

If it comes only to PC, ill be a sad console player! I understand that the PC can handle and perform better than any console...Id take a dumbed down console version over nothing anyday. And knowing DICE the console "dumbed down" version would still be better than previous games released by them on consoles.

snaileri5660d ago

Consoles will make the game fail.

DERKADER5660d ago

Lets hope it's PC exclusive.

Fishy Fingers5660d ago

It's not, originally it was, then came console confirmation. Although DICE promised the game wont be "consolised" and if their accurate in their claims, it wont be. Sounds like they're planning to make the most of the PC.

The_Claw5660d ago

commenting but not reading the article FTW

Pandamobile5660d ago (Edited 5660d ago )

I wish DICE would make BF3 a PC exclusive, and then make Bad Co 3 exclusively for consoles.

I mean really, I don't see how they plan to follow Battlefield 3 with Bad Company 3. The console version of BF3 will be watered down the the point where it might as well be Bad Company 3 - smaller maps, less players, etc

crazyclown5660d ago

consoles will make DICE reach a greater market share; you fail

Pandamobile5660d ago

At the cost of potentially ruining the game.

evrfighter5660d ago

see Deus Ex 2, Mechwarrior, Crysis 2, Cod 3+.

I played Battlefield since 1942 demo release. As much as I want to hope the console versions will be what Modern Combat was to BF2. I'm highly skeptical.

I honestly don't believe BF3 will have advanced the franchise like Bf2 did. After BF2 2gb of RAM and a 6600gt/x1800xt became the standard.

Ducky5660d ago

What we know about this game so far excites us. What we don't know, excites us even more.

zeph945660d ago

Man I got to get a new PC for this (among other reasons). I loved BF1942 and I liked BF2 but my computer wasnt good enough so I had to play at all low settings at like 25fps when I was lucky....it was bad.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee95d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

TheColbertinator129d ago

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
