Shift 2 Unleashed Takes Some Gorgeous Screenshots

The first step in creating a new Need for Speed game is making sure the screenshots look amazing. Slightly Mad Studios nails it with these screens for Shift 2 Unleashed.

MGRogue20175642d ago (Edited 5642d ago )

It looks alot like the first Shift .. except more grittier & dirty.

UnbiasedTroll5642d ago

This game does look like a huge improvement from the first one.

Should be a great racing game. In car view is unrivalled experience.

dgroundwater5642d ago

Unrivaled in-car view hands down. The devs took inspiration straight from Mirror's Edge, according to an early interview of the first Shift.

wow ,this is the best looking racing game from EA by far

Quagmire5642d ago

I dunno, Hot Pursuit is pretty darn fun! :)

Dylantalon15642d ago

I remember the fake screens that were released for the first game and fanboys were screaming about how impressive the graphics were when they were mediocre . Anyway, its a multiplatform game so expect a mediocre game at best .

Neckbear5642d ago (Edited 5642d ago )

What's funny is how you say multiplatform games are mediocre, yet some of the best games this generation are multiplatform.

Not only that, but the whole "fake screens" somewhat reminds me of Gra- oh, nevermind. I really don't feel like starting some flame war.

@Pyscho_Mantis

Actually, if we focus on this generation alone, there are alot, ALOT of incredible games that are multiplatform.

I'm too lazy to do a list, but honestly? just look at your game collection.

There's at least a good chunck of multiplatforms in there.

On a side-note: Games like God of War, Gears of War, MGS4 (Emphazis on "4", IMO it's the worst the series have to offer), Halo and GTA don't quite fit my tastes.

In fact, my game collection consists of mostly multiplatforms because of that. Games like Bioshock, Dead Space, Burnout Paradise, Red Dead Redemption, Bayonetta, Vanquish...ehm, just to name some, are of the best titles this generation has to offer.

Pyscho_Mantis5642d ago

no say it cuz the cockpit view in GT5 is so much more better. And the greatest franchises are exclusive or once were:
Gran Turismo
Halo
Uncharted
God of War
GTA (was exclusive)
MGS4
Gears of War

Ducky5642d ago (Edited 5642d ago )

Exclusives aren't really that must better than multiplats.
It's just the hype either side gives them because they want something to brag about for their system.

Though, some exclusives get an advantage by only having to focus on one system, but for each exclusive, there is another multiplat that was equally mind-blowing.

With that said,
*puts on fanboy hat* the best exclusive ever is STALKER!!

so you are saying that hack & slash, 3rd person cover shooter, stealth action, fps, and open world games don't suit your taste?

What games do suit your taste? Only racers and rpg?

Seems to me like you just have a thing against exclusives.
Bioshock was decent, Dead Space were excellent, Burnout Paradise is just fun, Red Dead was very good, Bayonetta (meh), Vanquish (meh). These might be the best multiplats this gen has to offer but the exclusives you mentioned are better than these imo.

Also don't tell me you missed out on Uncharted 1 and 2, Killzone 2, Valkyria Chronicles, Demons Souls, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Motorstorm 1 and 2, Heavy Rain, GT5, Warhawk, Mag

Neckbear5642d ago (Edited 5642d ago )

I don't judge games for the genre, I judge the game itself.

You could say I hated God of War, but I love DMC and Bayonetta. I dislike Gears of War, yet I like Uncharted and Vanquish.

I hated GTAIV, yet I liked Red Dead Redemption (Oh, the irony here). I didn't like MGS4, yet I loved the other entries of the series.

I don't like genres, I like the games themselves. Two games might share the same genre, however, one suits my tastes and the other doesn't, since one is fast, frenetic and fun, while the other is MASSHH SQUAAREEEE.

I'm open minded when it comes down to genres, after all.

Edit:

Also, I do NOT have a thing against exclusives. As I said, a good lot of them don't suit my tastes.

I played (and loved) Uncharted 1 and 2, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Valkyria Chronicles and Demon's Souls.

Games that I did not like, out of your list: Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, Warhawk and MAG.

Games I feel indifferent about: Motorstorm. They're fun, but not that fun.

Game I did not play yet: Gran Turismo 5.

However! I completly loved Bayonetta and Vanquish. Both were of the best action games I've played this generation, although that (and in fact, everything in my posts) consists of my personal opinion.

It's not too hard to realize that we all have different tastes when it comes down to games, bro.

You know what... I have been analyzing those screens, very detailed.
Those pics were probably took with a 580gtx and the cars doesn't look better than GT5 premium cars...

What's the problem ??

EA Lays Off Staff Across All Battlefield Studios Following Record-Breaking Battlefield 6 Launch

EA is laying off an unknown number of individuals from across its Battlefield teams, including workers at Criterion, Dice, Ripple Effect, and Motive Studios, IGN understands.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee74d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
