If i were to cheat in a game i can expect consequences in the form of a warning or a ban. However if i were to distribute cheats for profit there would be greater consequences.

One thing people have to realize, it's not your game to do as you please just because you bought it.

Yes, they should be held accountable in real life. Bring them to the middle of the street and I shall handle these pests (Goes to grab a chainsaw and guns).

Cheaters should be allowed to stay in games , except with their crap disabled , a huge malus on life and damage , friendly fire activated on their asses , and a big tag advertising them as cheater scums .

Cheaters who get caught usually get banned as well. That sounds like "reality" to me. The problem is that they don't get caught often enough. :\

But, for glitching in the game or boosting, I still think that only in-game / console punishments are still the way to go. Yeah, they're douchers, and I do not like them, but I don't think they should be getting sued by a big company for it. They obviously are pathetic in RL and are making up for something.. It's still just a video game, after all.

Anyone that takes their time to hack the game, should get fine for it.

Simple way to stop it, if they fail to listin after the first time, well jail is the next best thing.

I'm mean, how many people keep playing the game when you can tell the other person is cheating? Alot of people just quit because it isn't fun anymore.

While I agree there should be a punishment for online cheating it should not be dealt with by the publishers. If we get into a position where cheating is legally enforceable too the profit of the publishers then all they will do is create weak, if any anti cheat code - after all it wouldn't be in their interest to do so.
As I see it the best solution is a voting system from the players who have been effected with the result being a ban / time limited ban / no ban or warning and it should only effect the game in question and not as Microsoft like to do by banning use of every online game.
We can't leave it to independent anti-cheat coders either such as Punkbuster as they ban and rarely lift it even when it's their own code that is at fault - basically they couldn't care less and there's no one to keep a check.

You should be charged with the full extent of the law, like shooting someone in the face...in a game.

how would you punish them..jail would be too harsh for some one cheating on a online video game..should they be charged money for what they have done ?,should they be banned from the game which would probably wouldn't work with a hacker,have the internet that they paid for taken away ?..i agree that there should be some consequences for there actions after all WE paid for the game they are ruining,it isn't fair that they are able to do this while the regular gamer who just wants to have fun cant because of a hacker cheating.

You start suing people for cheating in online games and you then have to strictly define what is considered cheating and what is considered to be a cheat worth of suing and what is not. Your going to lose subs if you start doing that because people get scared was what I just did cheating? Oh nOES! In reality its a terrible idea just code better against cheaters and ban them better. Stop all this mentality of paying customers getting punished for the minority of people out there who cheat.

While cheaters should definitely be punished, and in creative ways, taking this to the level of lawsuits and real life is just plain ridiculous. Holy hell whatever happened to just playing games to have fun?? The stupidity levels have risen to critical levels if people are taking PIXELS this seriously.

I don't even agree with bannings. Instead just strip them of everything, reset their levels, remove all their items, make them attackable by everyone and tag a "Cheater" nametag on them so the community can laugh at them.

If banning them from each individual game doesn't work, strip them of their ability to take any game online. If that doesn't work, then by all means. Cheaters ruin the game. Lawsuits are not needed and only clog the legal system.

Cheating in games has become a very serious issue in most multiplayer games.

I have been playing BF2:BC2 and on servers and get hit by a shotgun from a mile away then I see So&So banned. I also been on matches where I saw 4 players banned in less than 2 minutes. The bad part is that sometimes I just don’t know if the other guy is cheating or not.

So now I don’t care for the game as much as I did. When an expansion pack or another game comes out, I might not buy it because of this issue.

When there are a large percentage of players who feel the same, the company will lose money because the players are feeling they will lose their investment.

I don’t know what the punishment should be for cheaters. I just know it needs to stop and I am getting tired of it.

Improving communication is necessary as they frequently announce titles that are already available on Gamepass. Sony has made significant advancements in this area with PS+. You are well-informed about the upcoming games for each tier and the games previously offered as a monthly essential bonus.
