EA takes aim at Activision

FIFA-like transformation will see Medal of Honor beat Call of Duty, says Euro boss

Pandemic5753d ago (Edited 5753d ago )

With this type of system,
http://n4g.com/news/609752/...

I think it'd be possible for Medal of Honour to reach Call of Duty.

Hades13375753d ago

True, I think that Call of Duty will eventually beat itself, allowing Medal of Honour to win by default.

LoVeRSaMa5753d ago

Somehow I don't see MoH outselling COD any time soon..

We have a love hate relationship with COD I think, but their is too much nostalgia attached to COD, and the new MoH looks like it attempted COD and phailed =/

Yi-Long5753d ago

... they're the cancer in the gaming-industry... with all their greed and DLC-scamming.

HeroXIV5753d ago

Bit of a technicality here but I don't think anyone has NOSTALGIA for Call of Duty.

dangert125753d ago (Edited 5753d ago )

WOOOOO GO EA Kill the bastard that is kotick >:D
i mean activision =/ yeah kill activision

vhero5753d ago

Gotta love how people backing EA to beat activision though a few years back everybody hated EA and called them the cancer as they were buying out smaller companys and destroying them e.g. Bullfrog and westwood studios but now an even bigger bad guy has entered the fray everybody jumped on EAs side of the bridge it's funny.

dangert125753d ago

@vhero ea are making good games...im not unhappy with them there looks after the people who buy there games and get money off,

activision is EVIL ='')

NYC_Gamer5753d ago

nothing really stands chance against COD...because that franchise has the loyal fan base of average joe gamers...many of them arent on N4G/forums...we can sit here and dislike Activision all day but that wont change the fact that COD is the king of mainstream

dangert125753d ago

Its true all these cod gamers well not all but alot of them don't know about other gamers or actually believe cod is the most realistc fps out there so wont give other games a try but hey as long as i get my fix of games and they dont ruin the market which they did cause cod games wont come down in price now they can sell that high yearly

scar205753d ago

But you forget most cod players are little kids who cry to thier parents to buy them the game.

starvinbull5753d ago

All it takes for COD to slip up is for Activision to ship 1 seriously bad CoD game on the back of 1 seriously good MoH game.

The drip drip that eventually killed off ISS was when Konami made the transition from PS2-PS3 but ISS didn't. FIFA stepped up it's game and within a couple of years took the crown.

Same thing will happen to CoD.

CyberCam5753d ago (Edited 5753d ago )

I wouldn't put it past EA to surpass Activision! I believe that EA are surpassing their competition this year with MMA & NBA Elite 11. I can see THQ's UFC & 2K Sports's NBA 2K losing out to them this year, both MMA & NBA Elite seem to be better games than their competitions.

So just like FIFA, NBA Elite & MMA, they'll keep throwing all the resources they've got into the MoH series until gamers are happy, unlike Activision which by the sounds of it, will be pissing off gamers with talk of subscription base premium extras for the CoD series.

In the end only time will tell.

...go hand and hand. I think it was disgusting how they weaseled there way into the COD world of great shooters. There games suck, that's why COD became what it is...a top seller. EA went and filled the heads of those two losers at Infinity ward, with promises of gold and riches and that is what lead to all the problems at Activision and them leaving to form there own team with Respawn.

EA and Peter Moore are classless, they are the ones that have started all the pay for used games, pay for demos discussions. I really hope Activision wins there court case and Respawn is not allowed to make a shooter for at least 10 years. Battlefield and MOH are complete rip offs of COD. Make a good game and it will sell...EA doesn't believe that. It's lets steal everybody Else's ideas and say it's better...no wonder they are in with Sony...same thing over there as well. Can't beat them, just steal all there ideas.

dangert125753d ago

@outrageous you don't believe what you said if you do thats outrageous

RuffRyder5753d ago

Battlefield a complete rip off of COD??? Wow I just don't know what to say to that..that comment is beyond outrageous lol.

felji_wetsub5753d ago

Just to back up dangert12 and RuffRyder's statements...

Battlefield 1942(2002) predates the first COD(2003)...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

In terms of the modern setting, Battlefield 2(2005) predates COD4(2007)...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

And lastly Battlefield Vietnam(2004) was way ahead of Black Ops(2010)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

And as far as MOH is concerned, Infinity Ward was formed guys who defected from EA after developing MOH Allied Assault, the third game in the series.

UNCLEFESTER5753d ago

if you knew your history you would know the guys at Respawn worked on the original MOH before they invented COD. You evidently are one of Bobby Kotick's relatives or have shares in Activision stock so check the facts before you make idiotic posts

I know n4g.com is only a small sample of the gaming community but MOH isn't even in the top 10 hottest topics and it's coming out next month! I don't see an EA takeover happening any time soon.

That being said, I will be buying both MOH and Black Ops.

M0t0rBreath5752d ago

the right direction. The last handful of games that have recently been released are quite good. I think EA will take over the FPS genre in a couple of years. They'll get a big boost with BF3. Not only because it'll be a great game, but because it's multiplatform. Then BFBC3 will come. DUN DUN!

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee117d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way
