DICE has a suprise at Gamescom?

Dice has "something great" coming on Gamescom, according to this offcial news blog. Are they going to show The Vietnam expansion of Battlefield Bad Company 2 and/or maybe a trailer or official announcement of Battlefield 3... We will see it the coming days on Gamescom. Read the blog after the jump.

I'd love to see a Battlefield 3 trailer of some sort and it's about time they showed something from BC2: Vietnam. It'll be out in a few months and the recent announcement of, no more BC2 maps, yeah it's time to give BC2 players something to look forward to and hold their interest in the game.

Both, yeah that would be ideal :)

Yi-Long5774d ago

1: Battlefield 1943 maps.
2: Rallisport Challenge 3 (...or make RSC2 backwards compatible...)

BTW, there's a typo in the title.

AnttiApina5774d ago

This is not even a rumour. They say it in the offical blog that they have something to show.

Here's hoping for BF 3 trailer.

socomnick5774d ago (Edited 5774d ago )

This vietnam expansion better feel more like bf 1943 and less like bc2 . I want planes.

SeanRL5774d ago

Planes would be awesome, they need to make bigger maps with planes and actual boats. Driving onto the shore being shot at by planes at the start of BF1943 matches is epic.

DelbertGrady5774d ago

I sold my copy of BF BC 2 cause I got tired of not getting any new maps, but I'm thinking of getting the new edition they are relasing cause the Vietnam pack sounds great. At first I thought I'd get Black Ops or MoH instead but from what I've seen neither of them looks to hold a candle against BF BC 2. I really miss the big maps in conquest mode :(

ElementX5774d ago (Edited 5774d ago )

I sold my copy because all these war games have crap graphics, pixelated textures, 2D foliage.... it's pitiful.

ElementX5774d ago (Edited 5774d ago )

Care to explain what part of my comment was false? I'd like examples instead of stealth disagrees. Stand up against any wall or texture and it's a pixelated mess. Look at any foliage and it's 2D, flat and boring.

dooge5774d ago (Edited 5774d ago )

I think people are disagreeing with you because real gamers focus more on gameplay, not graphics.

Emmettcelticfan5774d ago

Please let it be a mirror's edge 2 anouncement

kneon5774d ago

That's the one I'm waiting for. I don't know how long it's been this way but they use an image of Faith on their web page

http://www.dice.se/

If that's relatively new then it's a good sign.

Syaz15774d ago

well, last i checked vg chartz, it sold about 1.5 million copies. that's pretty impressive for a new ip, let alone a non-standard fps without a space marine. it's a massively underrated game, i hate when it gets hate for trying to be fresh and original, of course being a new concept, it will have problems. if they did a 2nd one, surely they'll fix the flaws.

i have FAITH in a mirror's edge sequel.

DeeZee5774d ago

Yeah, enough with the war games! Mirrors Edge 2 please!!

turgore5774d ago

I'd love that too A LOT but I doubt it'l happen so soon. Why ? Dice seems incredibly busy right now. Battlefield 3. BAd Company Vietnam. Medal of Honor multiplayer.
However they could announce it but we will have to wait a LOONG time.

Lausie0075774d ago

Yeah they are really busy and they are also working on Need for Speed: Hot pursuit.

il-mouzer5774d ago

maybe BF3, which will have separate console and pc versions… I'd probably end up buying both of them :P

MRHARDON5774d ago

People support DICE and all they do is release there game and never support there product via DLC by giving up new maps and not more gametypes for the same maps.

Mabey they will show a in depth preview on how they f*cked up on Medal of Honor BETA :)

Yi-Long5774d ago

... because in the old days, with Rallisport Challenge 2, their support for that amazing game was fantastic, with free DLC and daily, weekly and monthly challenges.

Would be nice to see them support a game like Battlefield 1943 a bit more. It's been bought and loved by MANY players, yet we still only have 3 maps and are extremely hungry for more...

Syaz15774d ago

people will complain if they release paid dlc's, saying they're ripping off gamers and so on. anyway, if that's the wish of bfbc2 fans, then good luck with it.

EA Lays Off Staff Across All Battlefield Studios Following Record-Breaking Battlefield 6 Launch

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

badz14988d ago

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee100d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

thorstein134d ago

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

TheColbertinator134d ago

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

rlow1134d ago

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
