Didn't this game sell over a million copies...

Red_Phoenix5756d ago

Well they definitely sold more than 5 million.

http://content.usatoday.com...

That article is from May, so probably a bit more than that now.

MariaHelFutura5756d ago

Please don`t tell me you believe sales = quality.

T9X695755d ago

Are you saying everything that sells well is bad then? MGS4 sold over 5 million copies and I think that was a pretty high quality game. I'm sure some people think the same about BFBC2, its all opinion based.

lastdual5755d ago

It's fine to talk about a game's shortcomings, but the fact is, when you're talking about a game that sold 5 million+ copies, making the statement that it "failed" makes you look like an idiot.

You might not care for Wii Fit, but did Wii Fit "fail"? If so, I'd love to have one of my products fail like that...

palaeomerus5755d ago

"Please don`t tell me you believe sales = quality."

No, of course not. Small groups of idiotic fanboys hiding behind pseudonyms on game forums, who can hardly write a coherent sentence, and have obvious axes to grind, are the sole arbiters of quality.

LOL.

nycredude5755d ago

I actually enjoy the sp much more than MW2's sp.

Raendom5755d ago

Me too! It was a little too short and ended abruptly though. I wanted to go to alaska and fight some Russians!

deafwing5755d ago

.. the next one of course

I played this game on the PC for two months straight. I loved it. It plays well, it looked great on the PC, and the servers were only flaky for the first week or so. Overall a great game.

Now Medal of Honor on the other hand....

Kleptic5755d ago

the rehash of MOH is what has me confused on a game 'lacking direction'...granted i haven't played the beta at all...but I can see where many say the game doesn't really have any identity...

CoD owns the close quarters multiplayer action...love it or hate it...thats where its pacing and gameplay mechanics come together the most...Treyarch tried vehicles a few times, and messed with what IW set up enough that it was 'different' enough for a sequel, but the franchises strongest points multiplayer wise always involved close to medium range combat when compared to something 'big' like battlefield...

Medal of Honor isn't even relevant as a franchise right now...as in it doesn't have a 'this is what moh is all about' tag...

Battlefield on the other hand used to be the opposite of call of duty...big open maps, tons of vehicles, and the feeling of being involved in a large scale invasion...but Battlefield dropped most of that scale and focused more on smaller combat...still bigger than cod, but nothing like what it used to be...

i'm not saying I mind that either...just saying...where exactly is medal of honor supposed to fit in now?...people say its like BC2, but without destruction...but still with lots of vehicles...and about the same size...and its even made by DICE, making it look, sound, and feel just like BC2...

on the politics side I really hope EA/DICE do well with moh...I like EA a hell of a lot more than Activision...and DICE has always been a pretty humble developer that delivers some of the best multiplayer games the genre has ever seen...where as IW was great, but they knew it...and constantly reminded us of that...and Treyarch simply doesn't count imo...they made spider man games...and now just make sequels to a franchise everyone is getting tired of...

For BF3 they need to bring back the Clan support that BF2: Modern Combat had, it's something most shooters don't have and something the community loved and continues to ask for. I still think BFBC2 is good and plan on picking it up next month but i still play BFBC1 and enjoy it more than Modern Warfare 2.

jacobdevos5755d ago

BF:BFC2 not only sold well but is probably one of the best thought out online FPS's in a long time.

This is easily the best online FPS out there right now, it looks great, it plays great, it has plenty of re playability.

I haven't loved an online fps this much since CS 1.6

corneliuscrust5755d ago

I haven't been this engrossed in an FPS since CS either! Every time I play it takes me back to those high school days with CS beta 7 hehe

BeaArthur5755d ago

Someone is looking for hits.

xino5755d ago

game failed for me because the storymod was rubbish and I constantly get disconnected online, so therefore I sold the trash game.

jacobdevos5755d ago

and you dont have the networking knowledge to play pc games online..

that's all i just read.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee77d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
