Haven't we seen like 50 of these games already? Granted, I love Super Star Dust and this is said to use the same engine, but still. Do we need more Zombie games? More importantly isometric, birds eye view, Zombie games? This looks no different than that Zombie Apocalypse I never bought.

You run around locations, blocked off to become an arena. And then you use your sticks to shoot. Sounds like we sure need more twin stick shooters on the PSN. I mean, what with the other 50 or 60 they've got. Hell, before too long Sony will own both the brick breaking genre and the twin stick shooter genre. Because the PSN is loaded with both.

@MorganX

That is true. We pay more to see a 2 hour peice of $#*T than we do some of these games. I agree, that this game could be well worth the price of admission. I will buy it, more than likley anyways. But do I "NEED" another one? That's all I was saying. But, yeah, I agree, man.

@Hellsvacancy

I have no clue what you're trying to say. The only people who can't take what I say are people who usually like being told everything is roses and red wine with orange duck sauce. That isn't me. I like what I like, man. No harm in that. We are in public forum to talk about and voice our opinion on such matters I thought. Unless this is Nazi Germany all of a sudden???

MorganX5782d ago

You're right. I'm bored with Zombie Apocalypse. Didn't even get all the achievements or trophies. And now, I don't want to play anymore but I enjoyed every minute I did play.

This looks better than Zombie Apocalypse and will probably sound better too. Hopefully it will have more diverse environments. I'm sure I'll only play for a couple weeks before I get bored but I'm goint to enjoy that two weeks and for $9.99, I'm in. Less than what I paid to see SALT.

ThanatosDMC5782d ago

Zombie Apocalypse just plain out sucked. It was interesting at first but level progression sucks and each level didnt last long.

nickjkl5781d ago (Edited 5781d ago )

what we need is a real zombie open world zombie game

basically gta 4 where the some pedestrians are zombies and everyone else rarely has a weapon and are either running away from zombies or getting caught by zombies

forcing you to survive running into streets sneaking around barricading your self into buildings going onto roof tops or you can go crazy and just tear the town apart with other survivors

and as the game goes on the zombies get faster and stronger

with the story being trapped in map surrounded by forests city's and towns gathering survivors and rebuilding society or what ever

i mean come on one developer has to make a game like this they cant keep making fps for ever

The devil must be freezing his nuts off, 'cause I actually agree with you Baltis. It helps that you explained your hatred this time. Keep it up and maybe people won't disagree as soon as they see your name.

This 2010, but no month yet.

The Zombies have Sticks?

Make it first person and it is LEFT 4 DEAD ON PS3

- Ghost of Sparta -5782d ago (Edited 5782d ago )

I agree with Hell. Your comments are beyond retarded, Baltis. Desperate for attention as usual, I didn't even bother reading it. Most people just skip right over what you're trying to say and just hit disagree. I don't blame them.

Everyone else should know that Dead Nation is fully explorable in old school Metal Gear fashion for the most part while at times, the camera actually switches to 3rd person.

There's nothing like this on PSN or XBL. If it weren't for the zombies, idiots wouldn't be comparing this to Zombie Apocalypse. Plus, don't even get me started on how Dead Nation graphically demolishes every downloadable game on PSN or XBL.

Bloodraid5782d ago (Edited 5782d ago )

I beg to differ. I'm tired of all these top-down zombie shooters. There's a million flash version of them, and I know of at least 3 on the PSN (Burn Zombie Burn, Zombie Apocalypse & Dead Nation).

I am a huge fan of survival horror games, and it's retarded that this generation of games has all but killed the genre. I own plenty of survival horror games.

- Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Outbreak
- Silent Hill 1, 2, 3, 4
- Fatal Frame 1, 2, 3
- Siren: Blood Curse

Notice that all but two of them (Resident Evil 5 & Siren: Blood Curse) are from past generations? There has been maybe 3 true survival horror games this generation. And it's because we keep getting fed shit like this instead. I want real zombie games, not top-down isometric crap like this.

Edit: I neglected to mention the stupidity of your comment, as well. How can you say that someone's comment is retarded and then in the very next sentence say that you didn't even read the comment? Do you realize how stupid that made you look?

Aquanauts Holiday at $500. Nice

I don’t collect games for their value I collect games I enjoyed playing. Many games I own are worth a lot of money but they must be games I want to play for me to purposely collect them. Most of this list isn’t games I would enjoy. I may have some of these games because I bought my friends PS2/3 Collection years ago and I never actually looked what was in it. It was a couple hundred games though still sitting in a box and I’m sure there are some good valuable games. I should go sift through it sometime.

Profchaos730d ago

I tend to agree for the most part rarity is linked to price
It's unusual that a rare game was popular with a few notable exceptions. Games released at the tail end of a consoles lifecycle which became popular years or decades later like little Samson on the NES or earthbound on SNES.
Or games that were banned after release in certain regions

Looking at this list there's nothing I'd be trying to collect either most of these games were fairly unpopular and bashed on their release leading to the scarcity seen now.
Especially NBA elite which I remember actually watching the news about how it got cancelled but had already shipped to retail it was so bad .

I still have Afrika. Who knew it’d be worth something?

MrBaskerville730d ago

Was unaware that Verdict Day was rare, glad I still own my copy. Game is very good.

Chocoburger730d ago

She forgot to mention Ni no Kuni Wrath of the White Witch Wizard's Edition with Ninostarter bonuses. This is the second or third most expensive PS3 game, and I own a sealed copy.

IBD Podcast #13 - Housemarque and mastering the twin-stick shooter

Housemarque is famed for its downloadable console games including Super Stardust, Dead Nation, Alienation, PS4 launch title Resogun and now Nex Machina. The veteran Finnish developer has made a name for itself crafting, precise, polished, technically accomplished and visually striking titles in publishing partnership with Sony.

With its latest title, Nex Machina, launching for both PS4 and PC, Housemarque is taking its first step into self-publishing. Working in collaboration with pioneering developer Eugene Jarvis, who created arcade classics such as Defender, Robotron: 2084 and Smash TV, Nex Machina represents both a refinement and evolution of Housemarque's design principles, as well as an opportunity for the developer to directly benefit from establishing and retaining its own IP.

Here, Housemarque CEO Ilari Kuittinen and head of publishing Mikael Haveri discuss how the decision to self-publish has led to greater autonomy, a collaboration with Eugene Jarvis and how a game titled "Death Machine" could mean a new lease of life for the company.
