Dead Head Fred is a remarkably entertaining title for the PSP, which truly falls into one of the best original IP category for any portable device. PSU was excited to have a hands on look at this title. Although M rated, Dead Head Fred has a charmingly morbid sense of humor and looks to have enough action, puzzles, and story to keep players happy.
Throughout the game, one thing that apparently stands out is: mechanics. Fred collects many heads that all accumulate as the journey progresses. Fred had his head stolen by a crime boss named Pitt who wanted his head for his trophies of enemies. Doctor Steiner, the man who saved Fred's brain and brought it back to life, decides it would be a good idea to give Fred the ability to swap his own brain in a jar head out for other heads that might be more useful due to other circumstances.

oh g ameed this game, it was a reason to own a psp, i really liked the whole changabe head and get a different ability gimmick it actually worked and was fun and challenging at the same time
and might never will be! I was lucky I recently got the last UMD copy in the bargain bin here in my country along with Daxter (another gem on PSP) and Soul Calibur...all 3 for the total price of $15!
this might not get on the PS Store for several reasons.
1. it's old...from the early days of PSP
2. the game uses camera control in a very awkward way to compensate for the non-existing right analog on PSP
but this is truly a great great game!

Though I would add Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (if you can read Japanese, then portable 3'rd) and Phantasy Star Portable 2, which had a very entertaining story behind it.
I loved my PSP, but when I got my Vita I gave it to a friend who loves JRPG's but never had the money for one.
The lack of Jeanne D'Arc on this list is disturbing. That is the best PSP game I've ever played.
The lack of peace walker is disturbing. That is one of the best games I have ever played period. Kind of a mediocre list imo.
gran turismo psp should be there since it took almost forever to be released!
and also midnight club 3 DUB edition since its a full PS2 game in the PSP!
While it's by no means an amazing game, people should play Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble. It's the closest thing to a 3D River City Ransom you're going to get.
And besides, who doesn't want to have an eye-laser showdown with a Japanese punkass schoolboy?
I think I'm gonna have to pick this game up. Something about swapping brains seems a little fun.
