i am looking forward to this game the demo was pretty fun and doing it with 4 friend wow.. how wicked.

The demo was sub-par. I don't think I'll even play the first Crackdown now.

I say play the game for yourself when it comes out and that way you won't have to guess what the next review score is going to be. You can actually play the game and decide for yourself whether it is a rental or not. I really enjoyed Crackdown because it's very accessiable and unique in the fact that you can try(and die) to take on the final boss if you choose to. There was no set order in which you had to disassemble the gang cartels. Pretty cool stuff. And the feeling you get jumping from buidling to building is quite the stress reliever. All haterism aside, no matter what console you own, if CD2 is anything like part 1 or better even then we're really in for a treat as gamers.

For the naysayers:

If you don't like Crackdown then fine. It's your right and opinion. But to all gamers who are used to GTA or Saints Row type games with a great emphasis on story, I say have an open mind. Crackdown has a story but I think it's more about character evolution and experiencing the feeling of going from ordinary to extradinary. Its quite a feeling indeed.

it looks ok. I am just on the fence about buying another open world game, i am re-playing infamous, playing red dead, and im about to start GTA again.

I LOVE Crackdown. i like the combination of cel shaded style graphics in a open world. it oddly reminds me of jet set radio. Also its fun jumping high from building to building

Pre-release reviews are usually bought, in the sense that they have to have offered incentives to the games publisher (giving it a higher score than usual) in order to release there review, prior to the games release. As a journalist isn't legally allowed to do this, without explicit permission.

So the pre-release reviews are always the highest on the metascores. If 9.0 is the highest for this game, then it should settle just below 8.

Still I do enjoy crackdown, the first one is a great popcorn game.

A much better score then i was expecting. Though i was looking forward to the game. Crackdown 1 was one of the best exclusive's ive played on 360 for sheer fun. Looks like #2 will be well worth it even with a new developer.

I really enjoyed the first Crackdown, and I'm really looking forward to this one.

360 is on a roll this year and CD2 is really helping show gamers where the fun is at. Loved the demo and will be picking it up day one.

I can't wait for this game. I loved the first one... but it is ironic that 360 fans are the ones guilty of putting this game wayyy on the back burner, not giving the original much credit or the praise it deserved. Crackdown is one of my favorite 360 games till this day and I still own it. An instant classic in my book. I am pleased to see this game get a good review, I only hope it gets more. Everyone needs to recognize great games and give developers CREDIT when they get shit right. Crackdown is one of those games IMO. All you have to do is have an open mind, accept the art style for what it is, and you will have a blast. Gamers love Crackdown, not too much, not too little, but just right.

i only played a little of it at E3, but it looked and felt like Crackdown to me.

the only real problem i have with Crackdown 2 is that it's set in the same city. i was hoping that they would have moved to a new location. a lot of the fun of sandbox games is discovery. i loved just roaming around in games like Red Dead Redemption, GTA, inFAMOUS, etc, because it was a new locale, with it's own style and layout to learn.

i loved the first Crackdown (it was one of the first 360 titles i bought when i got my 360, along with Mass Effect 1).

i'm not as pumped for Crackdown 2 as i was when i first learned a sequel was coming, only because it just felt TOO familiar to me.

oh, don't get me wrong, i'm certainly going to pick it up, but more than likely not on Day 1. i'll probably get Alan Wake first, then Fable 3 when that hits. my game budget is on lock down, even though i got a new job (it's still 1 game a month for now).

I didn't play the first game, but i was a little dissapointed at Crackdown 2. From graphics to artstyle and gameplay everything feels a bit last gen.

Maybe i expected too much, it is by no means a bad game i just think it needed more polish. I will still play it trough for sure, because there are little other games to play right now.

I've played it a tad myself. I'm liking it a lot more than the first.. The first just down right annoyed. This one just feels fun from the second you turn it on to the second you turn if off. Speaking of which, I need to get some more time in with the game.

People can disagree all they like, people have opinions and some people disagree with those opinions. They don't have to be a fanboy to not like what you say. It says 'Disagree' not 'I hate this person and everything that they say'.

Now, on topic:

In all honesty this game is outdated. It's clunky, boring to move around, boring to fight and the graphics are poor (but that's the least of my worries really).

I think that anyone believing this is worthy of anything above a 7.5 is just saying so because it's an Xbox 360 exclusive.

And before you all get your knickers so tightly twisted, I'm not a PS3 fanboy, I don't even own a PS3 or Wii, I'm an Xbox 360 owner who's also recently gone into PC gaming.

Demo was hard as hell if you set it to the highest difficulty. Clearing out that nest that has all of the infected in it while protecting the beacon was nigh-impossible for me. There must have been over 60 enemies on-screen at once hitting me.

This is a game that I would like to play on PS3 because I prefer the more over the top style of sandbox. I'm in that small group that is bored with the GTA style. I like the feeling of power, so long as it's not too much like Prototype was.

CD1 was fun its been played over and over in my house...We were loking forward to CD2 and eventhough it won't have the best graphics it could still be fun.

Te graphics are really bad and i already played borderlands way to much to jump in to crackdown 2. Im sorry but this is a rental at best for me.

Im not sure wether to get the game or rent it. i brought the first one to get that halo 3 and played it like twice before I sold it

I would say this site has it equally amount of PS3 and 360 fanboys. Now I thought CD1 was pretty good but i didn't finish it. I glad to hear that CD2 is better. Although I wish they would have left the zombies like creatures out of it. What's with all the zombies getting put in games today?

My biggest gripe is the $60 price tag for what is essentially the same game as the first with some added features. I'll wait and pick it up used or on eBay for less.

These are both amazing games. I'll never understand the hate they get. Crackdown 3? Sure, sucks, but these 2 were action packed gold.
