Get Dead Space for $10

With the recent gameplay footage of Dead Space 2 shown at E3 last week, gamers have been excited to get their hands on the sequel. Electronic Arts is taking advantage of this hype and is offering the original Dead Space at a heavily discounted price in the store on their official website EA.com (with promotional codes applied).

Sounds good to me, will not get this game. I tried to get this game back when Bestbuy had the buy 2 get one 1 deal going on, but they just so happend to not have this game in stock at the time, but did the week prior.

This game always had my intrest, but so did other games, so it seem like now is the time to get it, and for $10.

guitarded775812d ago

Dead Space for $10 is an unreal deal... I managed to get it right after it launched for $30 while Target was running their Black Friday deal, and after playing it, I would have paid the full $60 for that experience. Really a great game and at $10 how could you ever be disappointed.

pangitkqb5812d ago

And you didn't need codes or any of this other stuff. It was just $10. I bought it and am loving it on max settings on my PC. Ya gotta love Digital Distribution :)

Nihilism5812d ago (Edited 5812d ago )

Steam isn't that cheap. The new regular price for Dead Space is $18.99 in AUS....and we pay double for games.

I have yet to find a steam special that is cheaper than I can get the physical game online.

I'd love to know how they can justify the equal or higher price when they don't have to pay: shipping, staff costs, manufacturing costs, advertising costs, store maintenance... They would have you believe that the bandwidth costs them a fortune...but it doesn't just straight up digital monopoly.

pangitkqb5812d ago (Edited 5812d ago )

Sorry Steam isn't workin' out for ya, but to each their own. It has personally saved me a small fortune. I purchased Assassins Creed, Stalker, Mirror's Edge & Mass Effect for $5 each. I got all 3 Overlord Games as a bundle for $8.75. They gave me Portal for FREE. I could go on, but there is not reason.

Really, sorry to hear about the prices in Aus. I actually spent seven months living in Aus and you poor guys get the shaft on entertainment prices.

As for the "monopoly," I buy games digitally from Direct 2 Drive, Impulse, and even GFWL as well. Wherever I find a good game at a reasonable price. That's all.

Game on

Nihilism5812d ago

I bought a second copy of mirrors edge for $4 at 'Game'...and like I said, we pay double, so you can put that down as $2 at a U.S 'Game' store.

It's not just AUS in regards to steam pricing...the steam prices are relative to AUS retail prices as the steam U.S prices are to U.S retail prices, they are still charging too much.

solidt125812d ago

I bought it when Amazon had a $15 sale. This is the best survival Horror game I have ever played. If did not play this game you are really missing out on something amazing. For 10 bucks there is no reason for even the cheapest person not to buy.

Xander7565812d ago

Yeah I still haven't gotten this game yet either and I was stoked to see I could grab it for just $10. A great deal for ANY new game, especially one that is so well reviewed as Dead Space.

Bnet3435812d ago

Lol go get it! It's crazy how I just put this game back in for the first time in a long time. Great horror game. I love it and can;t wait for Dead Space 2.

NateNater5812d ago

$10 for Dead Space? I'm sold! Now my friend can finally get his copy that I've been borrowing forever back :P

Nihilism5812d ago

Anyone that has not already bought it, pick it the hell up, one of the best games this generation/

XxRoosterxX5812d ago

I'm playing through it again right now.

It still looks amazing as well.

Can't recommend it enough.

TheBand1t5812d ago

I paid the full 60 when it first came out.

Money well spent.

I wish EA would just release a DS2 remake. DS is my favorite horror game and DS2 is the best one in the franchise. But because DS1 failed to meet certain numbers EA scrapped the DS2 remake. SH2 remake was great rumors are Konami might be asking for another SH remake. The RE2 remake was great EA just needs to give it another try. But all they seem to do is shitty sports games that are no different from the year before. Change a few players, add different uniform colours, maybe change a team logo. Wash, rinse, repeat.

goken510d ago

Agreed. DS was great. But DS2 was even better. Would love to see a DS2 remake, though I would love to see a DS4 even more.
The problem with EA is they make easy $ from the slight changes to their sports titles like football FC games (whatever it’s called nowadays). People just lap that sh1t up.
Comparatively, games like DS which don’t sell 10s of millions, can’t sell them team player add ons and all the like, would seem a hassle to make and unappealing comparatively. Especially when you consider that most EA non sport titles haven’t actually performed well recently.

Dark Souls 2, Darksiders 2, Dead Space 2, Death Stranding 2, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2

chicken_in_the_corn510d ago

The Dead space remake was so good. Better than the original. Shame they won't remake 2.

__y2jb510d ago

I loved the original dead space but the remake I just found boring. Game design has moved on and the game really showed its age, just small area encounters repeated again and again.

I bought Dead Space during launch window and I never bought a Mirror's Edge game .

Inverno509d ago

Then they went on to screw both games over.

UnbreakableAlex509d ago

I'd rather see a new and great Mirrors Edge than another boring Dead Space.

EA Japan Exec Criticises Japanese Ratings Board

An executive of Electronic Arts Japan has criticised the Japanese video game ratings board for allowing upcoming action game Stellar Blade to be released uncensored while EA's own Dead Space was banned in the country.

He’s got a point. If a game is M-Rated, which is the equivalent of an R rating, I don’t get why you need to censor anything. The rating is the indicator of the content and the age appropriate. If it’s appropriate for adults… why treat them like children? 🤷‍♂️

Eonjay757d ago (Edited 757d ago )

This is about gore... not about anything sexual. And specifically I think it is about the realistic depiction of gore. Unfortunately I don't know the nuance of the CERO board or how it is relevant their specific culture (as a prohibition on gore may transcend age) so I hesitate to make a statement. Can anyone else provide insight to what kind of gore is considered unacceptable?

CrimsonWing69757d ago (Edited 757d ago )

Yea, I know this is about gore, but thanks for pointing that out.

My point still stands, if a game is essentially rated for a mature audience then why censor for them as if they’re too young to view it? Makes no sense.

To answer your question: Decapitation, dismemberment, like… anything gore. They have been censoring that since CERO was established. Look up RE4 chainsaw decapitation or any MK games that made it there.

Cacabunga757d ago

EA Japan? Wtf never heard of that

ZwVw757d ago

Yet, the Oneechanbara series (y'know, the game with half-naked samurai females slicing up zombies to bloody pieces) get released in Japan uncensored.

The CERO ratings board is an equilibrium.

Smellsforfree757d ago

This confuses me since I've seen so many gory Japanese movies and anime. For example, Battle Royale.

gold_drake757d ago

definitely has a point.

but .. its japan. are we really surprised?

VersusDMC757d ago

I don't know if the EA executive is going off the one close up of an arm being cut off in the demo. Maybe it's uncensored because it's the arm of a cyborg or it doesn't happen that often (didn’t see EVE dismemberment when killed in the demo) .

In the states there's a certain amount of swear words allowed to a PG13 movie before it is deemed R. So maybe it's the same in Japan for gore?

Eonjay757d ago

Yes I think you may be on to something. The violence is gory but I wouldn't call it gruesome.

Retroman757d ago

Ea Japan please make Knack 3
in the future

Eonjay757d ago (Edited 757d ago )

Does EA Japan actually make games at all? Or are they just a regional publisher?

Retroman756d ago

I'm sorry Japan Studio made Knack
