Though it should be point out that the 3DS won it for the Big N, not the Wii.

Honestly, both Nintendo and Sony showed off what they needed to show. Picking between them is really pointless. They had different goals, Nintendo wanted to get back to their core fans, and they did that massively. Sony wanted to show that Move is suitable for both the core and casual, and they showed that they still have great non-move games coming our way. They did that.

They both won. simple.

I think it would be between Sony and Nintendo. They both catered to the hardcore the most and still had room for some (somewhat) impressive casual stuff.

If Sony had more time in their conference to talk about Resistance 3, Insomniac's new game, TLG, Agent and Versus XIII, they would have taken this one home hands down, no questions asked.

Unfortunately, they didn't, so it's very very very close between the two. If you own both of those consoles, you must be in heaven right now....

Whilst my OVERALL Highlight of E3 was Gears of War 3 (Of Course :P), the overall conferences were better by Nintendo and Sony, due to the overall amount of game announcement and previews of Hardcore gamer titles and not Too much focus on motion controll...

Nintendo delivered to the point it was just game after game I was interested in (apart from that laughable demo of Zelda which totally turned me off the game - "wireless interference" my ass, the thing was unresponsive but I'm sold on 3DS because I know how it works and it has a Metal Gear Solid game which Hideo Kojima is behind).

Sony delivered a lot of great content as well, even though we knew about most of it, and the Valve thing stole the entire E3, just because of prior gaben comments (Sorcery impressed me simply because it seems to take advantage of motion controls in a real game way).

Microsoft was woeful and dire and, compared to the other platform holders, a complete disgrace (no new announcements, really, but some decent demos at the start). An E3 press conference should NEVER, EVER be aimed at casual gamers, take that crap to Oprah.

I'm handing it to Nintendo though, because I just wasn't expecting the turnaround from their past two E3's to this year's game fest.

It was a tie between nintendo and sony.Both where going in different directions and did them well.I was excited more for sony but I know nintendo kept it coming game after game and sony showed the future and some good surprises.

Nintendo killed it, best event by a long shot. Sony can take 2nd this year (Tied with EA), with 3rd/4th place taken by Ubisoft.

Nintendo Won

Their game lineup of the 3DS was amazing and the return of Donkey Kong Country was something that brought a tear to my eye. PLUS Zelda: Skyward Sword. But where is Pikmin 3

Microsoft disappointed me which sucks because the Xbox 360 is my number 1 console. The conference was for the casual audience and I am not the type of person who plays Wii Sports or Kinectimals. Still Halo: Reach and Gears 3 are both my most hyped games.

Sony's conference, the only thing I care about is Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Yakuza 4.

I was a little bit dissapointed by SONYs conference, BUT the exclusive content made it worthwhile. Not a fan of Newb Gabell's games. Still was hoping to see AGENT or couple more new games. MOVE looks ver promising.

XBOX360 had the biggest surprise with a new 360s BUT Kinect looks very poor especially when they show the gameplay for that adventure game and it was a bummer to see that 360s is priced at $299.99 with no blu-ray.

Wii showed a 3DS which was kool but i don't need it.

See I'm in too minds about this one. But new Zelda, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Kid Icarus, 3DS, Golden Sun Release Date, MGS3D....thats just nuts. Sony delivered too though but I wanted more surprises :/ Still both are great. Nintendo's wins for though.

I can`t help but feel Nintendo still have the best games. Maybe it counts for us that grew up with good games, and not countless action games and action games with "apparently" cool americans shouting: "Get over here! Head to extraction point!" etc.

And I was so disappointed Sony didn`t show Final Fantasy vs.13 or The Last Guardian; two of few hopes for good gaming with esthetics and soul.

So NIntendo won in my opinion.

I own a PS3, 360, Wii, and several DSi. The Wii is used the least in my house. Unlike many I can speak on this matter with objectivity and without bias. It is clear in my opinion that Nintendo blew the competition away this year. Microsoft came in second. Sony comes in a distant third. A very underwhelming showing for them. Twisted Metal being the only highlight for me. Moronic Fanboys will whine and disagree of course. We all know they have to justify and rationalize their single purchases to make them feel relevant. But as a person who enjoys the option to choose between all three my money will be going to Nintendo and Microsoft this year.

I'm not a big lover of handhelds, i know People that love them will love 3ds, i get that, but for me, SONY won it.

Games that i wanted are coming.

No Last Guardian and Team ICO Collection let me down enough to say that Nintendo had the best conference for me this year.

Show little new software. Invested way to much time with Kinect and the lackluster games that went with it. Few new surprizes.
Only good things were Crisis and Gears3.

Although I'm a PS3/PC gamer and don't even own a Wii, it seemed like Nintendo gave their fans everything they asked for.

Sony should have spent a little less time talking, and more time showing more games. The show only became interesting after about 40mins. Last Guardian, Resistance 3, Agent, and FF13vs would have been great.

I was also hoping for more Move support in more core games going forward. For example Dead Space 2 with Move support, or future 3rd party FPS games with move support.

So, for me:

I never watched the Nintendo conference so i can't comment on them but between Sony and Microsoft i'd have to say Sony.

Sony and Nintendo fans can both brag about this one. X-box fans now know how Nintendo fanboys felt two years ago. Personally Nintendo made me a bit more giddy, so much franchise revitalization!

Nintendo by far had the best show. The new hardware they showcased wasnt a copy of another companies.

InFamous2 was all i wanted from them and they unleashed that b4 e3. Watching Gabe eat crow was epic but Portal2 is meh imo. KB did his thing as usual. Overall, I've gotten used to expecting nothing but quality from Sony games and products and thats what they showed. MS showing was so weak that Sony really didnt need to break out heavy hitters like Last Guardian or Agent. I will be picking up a 46" Bravia Friday to go with the Tre but an excellent Sony showing. They did me proud and when Jack said the secret weapon as always are the fans, it shows the class that Sony execs have.

Little disappointed in Sony,little less interested in Nintendos upcoming stuff and a little more unsure of Microsofts lineup.

Sony had the worst showing of the big 3 at E3. First Sony's presentation was mostly filled with multiplatforms. It was a battle of who had the better exclusive extras. Well the 360 has a 3 year exclusive map packs for Call of Duty's awesome looking title in Black OPS! What does Sony have? Exclusive multiplayer beta of Assassins Creed? LMAO!

A $50 premium service that still doesn't have the awesome cross chat like Xbox Live. Portal 2??? That's not even close to having the same effect of stealing FF of last year. Coca Cola campaign? LOL Another GT5 teaser. Twisted Metal was the only sweet announcement that Sony had, to bad the graphics look almost as good as Modnation Racers. Sony showed another useless gaming montage.

Microsoft's presentation was much better than this. It showed the game of E3 in Gears of War 3 which looks amazing. Halo Reach shocked us with the unveiling of space combat. And of course the biggest news of E3 was the unveiling of the new Xbox 360 which is available next week. The Kinect stuff was meh but their is a market for this but it's not me. Oh and the ESPN addition is SICK!!!!!!!!! 3500 games for free??? Hell Yeah!

Both parties had underwhelming E3's but Sony was easily the worse.

In fact, i would say that i was so disappointed in SOny and especially Microsofts presentation because i was one of those people that was excited to see what they will bring to the table with both Move and Kinect. But Sony showed nothing IMO that set the Move above what could be found on the wii and even games like Killzone 3 etc, i would rather play them with a controller. Their conference was filled with commercial after commercial and i found the jabs that Kevin Butler took at both Microsoft and Apple to be a level that i have not seen Sony sink to in a very long time. My game of their show for me was Infamous 2 because i see that game having the same level of transition that Uncharted made from 1 to 2.

And what was with all the multiplatform exclusive DLC and to top the lot, exclusive advertising deal with Coca Cola? It was completely laughable at their obvious payments made to 3rd party devs for DLC and extra content. Another problem was the shocking absence of both The Guardian and Agent which leads me to believe that we may not see those games until as late as 2012.

As for Kinect, i had no problem with the games and apps shown (dashboard navigation was awesome). In fact i felt some were sure fire sales hits like Kinectimals (my niece wants one so badly) and also, both the Fitness game and Dance games but i was expecting Microsoft to at least come out with one hardcore hybrid (Kinect + controller) based game that will make me and other hardcore gamers rush out and buy it.

Instead, they spend millions of dollars on R&D for Kinect and then tell their existing Core base, that it is not for you but for an audience mainly on another platform that you may or may not be able to sway them to get your system. Halo Reach was definitely my game of their show because it looked absolutely incredible. The art direction was just amazing and I have little doubt in believing that Reach will be the best Halo ever.

As for Nintendo, i want to play the new Zelda, Goldeneye, Metroid M, Donkey Kong (RARE is officially dead to me now) and Epic Micky. Game of their show for me was Kid Icarus and i will definitely buy a Nintendo 3DS because of that game. That is how much i enjoyed Nintendos presentation.

I thought Microsoft started out pretty good, COD, Gears, Fable 3, Reach and MG - Rising, after that it sucked.

imo sony had the best showing, sony brought what we wanted harder then everyone else, games games games, LBP2 KZ3 and TM look amazing! there were alot of good game shown but imo those were the standouts. ninetndo didnt slack eaither lot of good solid games coming out most noteablely Goldeneye 007, also 3DS sounds pretty cool. Microsoft imo spent way to much time going on about kinect espcially when they have another conference dedicated entirely to it, and what they did show wasnt exactly impressive. MoH looks like it will be fun as hell as hell, but LBP2 and TM defintaly stole the show w/o question, the absoulte dept and freedom to create basically w/e u want that seemingly puts its predecessor to shame; which says alot. but TM..... just WOW, that is some insane looking combat, really really fast past carnage and i am ALL OVER THAT

I think one thing that we can all agree on at least is that Microsoft's conference was pretty much a joke compared to the other two.

Japanese Game System For The Win!

For me, it's no doubt Nintendo. I'm a hardcore DS fan and the 3DS looks amazing. The Kid Icarus surprise was,IMO,even more unexpected than the Twisted Metal surprise.

On top of that they unveiled reboots of Donkey Kong and Kirby. Two of my favorite series.

Sony's presser was great, no question, but Nintendo appealed so much more to me this year.

I didnt think microsoft did as bad as some people are making out. They demoed gears 3, halo reach, showed many trailers and teasers and thehn I think spent a bit too much time on kinect. I think once people try it, they will stop bashing it. Nintendo was a clear winner for me. Sony spent too much time gloating (as did nintendo) but when it came down to games, they delivered too.

Overall: A win for me, because I own ALL 3 consoles, so I can just sit back and enjoy everything rather than squabbling over which console you think is better.
oh and anyone else who owns all the consoles.

compared to last year, i thought Nintendo really stepped it up presentation wise, but once again, it was the same Mario/Zelda/Metroid (and now Donkey Kong) Trifecta that i've been experiencing for over 25 years now.

Nintendo can cater to my inner child that still gets giddy when he hears the Legend of Zelda theme, but if they REALLY wanted to blow me away, they'd use all that creativity to create a new IP, for a new generation. maybe one that can stand proud next to Mario, Zelda, and Metroid.

Sony, for me, had the content that i find interesting. i hate to admit that i was impressed with some of the MOVE titles (that Sorcery game was rough, but really showed promise, and i'm sold on Heroes on the Move, because it's Ratchet, Sly, and Jak together in one game; something that fans of all three franchises have been clamoring for for a while).

the Sly Collection has me excited (and i will support it, if anything, to show Sony that i'd love MORE HD remakes of games like Jak, Ratchet, and of course, Team Ico). inFAMOUS 2 looked awesome, as did Killzone 3 and Twisted Metal. i'm not even a huge TM fan, but i remember playing it on the PS1 back in the day and having a blast with it, and this new one looks fun as well.

i don't care for exclusive content for multi-plats, but we KNOW games like The Last Guardian, DC Universe Online, Agent, etc are in development, so why be upset that they weren't shown off now?

looking at how Sony chose to cover SOCOM 4, LBP2, Killzone 3, inFAMOUS 2, and Motorstorm: Apocalypse, i wouldn't be surprised to see them do the same with more titles in the coming months before TGS.

as for Microsoft? in comparison to Sony and Nintendo, their conference was an embarrassment, and i think it really set them back in terms of their desire to become industry leader.

Sony and Nintendo had strong E3 presence this year, even if the presentation wasn't smooth. these guys are executives and developers, not actors and entertainers.

oh, and Kevin Butler was great. fun speech, even if it was pointless.

with tighter pacing, the Sony conference would have been phenomenal, but as a gamer, and as far as having titles that i'm actually looking forward to playing, Sony took the show, with Nintendo a close second, and Microsoft didn't even register for me (well, i'm still looking forward to Fable 3 and Crackdown 2, but that's all from them. PlayStation MOVE at least showed some promise; Kinect looks like a poorly executed idea that sounded GREAT on paper).

Sony covered all of the bases they were supposed to (3D, GT5 Release Date, Move Performance) and had some nice announcements (Portal 2, Twisted Metal). They only thing I would have wanted is a few new game announcements, but otherwise, Sony performed very well.

Nintendo had a massive turnaround from previous showings. They had a number of game announcements and the 3DS looks pretty cool. I expected just Zelda and the 3DS, but Nintendo surprised me with their showing and performed very well too.

Microsoft? I dont know what to say. Their conference was downright embarassing. They spent far too much time on Kinect, and what they did show did not seperate them from their competitors. In terms of games, there was borderline nothing. Very disappointing show for Microsoft, one that leaves me concerned about their future in the industry.

Overall, it's a virtual tie between Sony and Nintendo, with the slightest of edge going to Nintendo. Microsoft just failed.

there is still GDC and TGS left this year and sony announced the price drop at GDC last year. So they may still have alot of aces up their sleeves.

I would say Nintendo for me. Which to me I did not think would happen with the last few E3's being more casual. So I was really happy to see what Nintendo showed. I love Donkey Kong Country. That was awesome news. I would have said Sony. But because almost all the games other then Sorcery, Twisted Metal & Patapon 3 were shown before hand. I know some people liked seeing the new games before hand. But to me at least I wanted to be surprised. Nintendo did that for me.

Every one has there own opinion. So just because that is mine. Some one else has a totally different one & that makes the world go round. Plus is really cool. So at the end of the day gamers win. E3 showed lots of cool new games & what ever system you own. You will be able to find some thing great. So that is awesome.

Move? Sorry but its late to the game and I just cant give them props for being 3 years late on finally getting into this gen of gaming.

With Nintendo you had games you hadnt got to play in 15 years or more. How many of those Sony games have a played this gen alone? Any left over I probably played on the PS2 last gen. Same game get old you know. Took 20 years to get a Kid Icarus sequel. Sony showed sequels to games made just 2 years ago.

With Nintendo we get advanced 3D. Sony's tech is so old you still need the glasses.

What conference were yous watching the 3DS won it by itself. Then to top it off Goldeneye for Wii killed off any doubts that Nintendo are back in a big way.

I have to admit it is quite amazing to see sony fanboys pretending so hard. Nintendo won, it will be proven over the next few days. Though never stopped the sony fanboys from manufacturing a convenient reality for themselves anyway.

Guess i was getting my hopes up too much that N4g could admit when Nintendo had won an E3. Sony's press event had numerous bad moments that nintendo just didn't have.

you need a $3000 tv to see the new Killzone and GrandTurisimo as it's intended.

In order to get involved with a single 2 player PS move game utilizing a Nunchuck and a movemote for 2 be prepared to spend over 250 bucks.

Sony has decided to institute subscription fees but hides it behind a "2nd tier" Strategy. A strategy that usually results in the free tier being completely gimped. Plus to add insult to injury, they wont even make the fee less then getting Live. I mean they had a chance to undercut but just like sony, they had to make sure it was as expensive as they could get away with.

No new hardware... in fact their answer for 3ds was they hired some African American 12 year old (representing sony demo?) who apparently has to prevent the demise of PSP, which is inevitable now.

Oh and they decided to spend 40% of their stage time plugging their new COMMERCIALS!!! That isn't insulting to anyone?!?!
