Even if you didn't get the Cerberus Network free through purchasing a new copy, they are sure making it worth the $15 for all the additional content. Glad to see that they are supporting ME2 through the Cerberus Network!

JeffGUNZ5911d ago

Yeah, especially with so many great games coming out, this free DLC is much appreciated. It will get me back to Mass Effect 2 Again.

StanLee5911d ago

If they support the game through the end of the year, it wont get forgotten in the Game of the Year discussions. At this point, it's probably the front runner.

EvilCackle5911d ago

The DLC hasn't been that huge of a difference for me but still, free is free. I'm glad they let you play after the main campaign ends so you can experience all the new content easily. I hated having to replay the first couple hours of ME1 just to play Bring Down the Sky.

Charmers5911d ago

I love Mass Effect 2 however after seeing a couple of mission videos of this hammerhead in action I have to say I am incredibly underwhelmed. The missions last all of about 3 minutes each and they just come across as unexciting fluff.

BeaArthur5911d ago

But it's free unexcited fluff. I just hope it handles better than the Hammerhead. That thing was a nightmare to drive.

Charmers5911d ago

Just because something is free doesn't mean it is "worth it". I am pretty sure I could find some one to come into my house and crap on my lovely carpet for free. I wouldn't want some one to do that mind you but hey it is "free".

There is also the issue that the hammerhead controls are already in the game, this smacks of content that was REMOVED from the game to turn it into DLC.

Oh yeah and this DLC is never free we already paid for it, we paid for it when we bought the game they are just issuing us with the content now rather than at game launch.

BeaArthur5911d ago

Charmers...someone sounds a little jaded. And that is such a ridiculous comparison that it doesn't even make sense. It's free content, if you don't want it don't play it but don't complain about it like we're somehow getting ripped off with free stuff. Yeah it was probably supposed to be in the game or was pre-planned but who cares. A lot of developers remove or hold back content and then make you pay for it later so try not to get too worked up over free content.

Charmers5911d ago

So just because a lot of developers do it doesn't make it any more "right" for them to do it. What makes this even worse is people going "oh well it's how things are done we should accept it".

Again this is NOT free content you have already paid for it and if you do not have access to the Cerebus Network you have to pay $15 to access this content.

I have to laugh how you are applauding this though BeaArthur this is content you should have had access too two months ago, we have already paid for this content but we are only getting it now and here you are saying we should praise EA and Bioware for this ........ erm no I don't think so.

BeaArthur5911d ago

Okay first of all I didn't praise anyone. The point is, we are getting free crap and you are complaining about it. No it's not right, but yes this is the way things are done now and no amount of complaining or boycotting is going to do anything about it.

As far as the Cerberus Network goes, you shouldn't be paying anything extra for it as long as you bought a new copy. Only people that buy used have to pay extra, and as a person who does frequently buy used games I don't have an issue with it. The developers work had on these games and they should not be cut out of the loop just because someone decided to trade their game in.

Charmers5911d ago

IT ISN'T FREE you already paid for this content when you BOUGHT the game. This is EA we are talking about they don't do "free" you have paid for the work already they just didn't allow you access to the content for nearly 3 months to fool you into thinking it is "free".

Oh and the poor hard done developer, yeah you know people work minimum wage in the real world to pay for these games which are often full of bugs, incomplete and have content taken out and passed off as "free" DLC. Look you obviously are not going to accept that developers and publishers are taking us all for a ride and that is fine.

However I am not falling for this "free" bull, this content is not free we already paid for it and I am not going to go "whoopee" just because I am now getting content I paid for 3 months ago when I was actually still interested in playing the game.

BeaArthur5911d ago

I fully understand what's going on, I just know that there is nothing I am going to be able to do about it so I don't worry about it.

We are just going to agree to disagree on this one. I don't like all this preplanned/already on the disc/withheld content crap anymore than you, trust me on that, but it is the way things are done now. EA/Bioware could have waited 3 months and sold all of this crap to us but they didn't, they gave it to us for free unlike other developers/publishers (cough cough 2K for Bioshock 2). I'm taking it for what it is, content that I don't have to pay for.

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast531d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine531d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast531d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman531d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast531d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan779d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave779d ago (Edited 779d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
