I was going to go with something like this when I put my setup together a couple months ago but I prefer the illumination, razor sharp detail and vibrancy of back lit displays vs projectors. I have a top of the line 1080p projector in my basement theater and it doesn't compare to my Samsung D8000 LED's. My projector is slightly faster for gaming but not for dynamic lighting, vibrancy, illumination and fine details.

I do love how the projector completely eliminates the bezels but mine are barely 1/2" wide (main reason I went with the models I did, smallest bezel on the market) and you don't even notice them using the cockpit view. Usually the supports for the windshield run directly over my bezels.

The immersion level of either setup is just unreal and blows everyone I have shown it too in person. If only consoles support this technology. No more camping corners in shooters.
