Few games are as fondly remembered as Rare's GoldenEye 007, which was one of the Nintendo 64's most critically acclaimed games. Though it may be high on the nostalgia list for many, Microsoft's purchase of Rare in 2002 and licensing issues have so far prevented the game from making the transition to the current generation of consoles. Fortunately, its unofficial sequel Perfect Dark isn't tied to a licence, and 4J Studios has been hard at work updating the game for release on Xbox Live Arcade.
A video showing the process of migrating the Xbox 360 Perfect Dark on to the Xbox One as part of the new backwards compatibility feature.

"In less than 48 hours, Xbox One will begin making its way into peoples’ homes, thus edging us into ending our long-term relationship with the Xbox 360.
Since 2005, Microsoft’s high-def console has been a staple in millions of living rooms throughout North America. Whether or not our individual experiences with the system were great, eight years is still eight years. As we stand on the precipice of a new generation of games, we’re taking the time to look back on our time with the Xbox 360.
Sure, there are plenty of emotional ups and downs, but we’d like to think that every red ring of death has a silver lining. There’s a reason why the system sold so well.
The 360 truly was the best and worst of times." - Pixelitis Staff

Brash Games writes "With RARE working on a host of new titles and well known franchises will we see Killer Instinct, Blast Corps, Jet Force Jemini, RC Pro Am or even Perfect Dark return with Xbox One?".
