It's seems good that more PS3's are selling on ebay. But also a lot more people who bought them retail are also selling them. I think you can look at it both ways. I don't pay much attention to ebay sales because of this.

the fact that a system is being sold more second hand makes it better?

Wii is now being realized as a fad and no one wants to pay $400 for a 360 + $50 for live + $100 for a wifi adapter, then if you want $200 more for HD DVD. ALL that to have your console break after 2 weeks then get a refurbished console that breaks after 1 week!

Since when a product being sold on ebay at a price lower than at the retail store is a good thing? People selling their PS3 on ebay cheaper than what they bought it for... is a good thing? Last time I check people selling at ebay are one of the following:
1) Retailers selling to make a PROFIT... profits at less than retail price?
2) Someone that does not want it anymore and want get some money for it.

Selling at ebay vs selling at retail stores.. it's not the same... in case you didnt noticed. lol.

Weird how you could say somthing but not actually say it... I will take your advise though and go play the games because I actually have some to play.

A better breakdown of the sales would help...Hopefully a lot of you realize that not just private owners sell stuff on ebay...Some of these "middle" retailers purchase items in bulk, with the intent at beating regular retail prices...that is how tons of companies use ebay to make a business out of just reselling retail items...this works with pretty much every electronic from cell phones, to you guessed it, video game consoles...

If anything this simply signifies how price conscious most buyers are right now...a price drop of the ps3 is what most buyers are looking for, and even paying 15 bucks less online beats the trip to best buy, Wal Mart, etc...

I would bet that most of these purchases are not of used ps3's, or even NIB ps3's from private parties looking to quickly off their purchase...but more from the hundreds of electronic stores that purchase large quantities from wholesalers (or even retailers that have overstock) for less than MSRP, and sell them slightly over what they paid for it to make a quick profit...without a breakdown of where all these consoles were selling from, its hard to tell...

I wouldn't use the argument that the ps3 is selling for less than MSRP though...The 360 is also, assuming most purchases are for the 399 w/hdd package...No one buys from ebay if its the same price as where you can get it anywhere else...that defeats the purpose of the entire site...

who is dumb enough to buy used 360 on ebay?? they goin to cost you extra money to ship it with the redlightsofdeath..

More important is how much NEW consoles are sold. Then the 360 wins with double the marks of the PS3 world wide. Ebay ain't important in that view

posting this kind of article has to be the dumbest "support" for sales I have ever seen...let's think about this for a brief second.

sales of ps3 on ebay are higher than other consoles....this means that there are NO SIGNIFICANT sales attached to ANY consoles, because ebay is NOT A RETAILER!!!

if someone buys a ps3 on ebay, that means an owner of a ps3 just SOLD theirs.....so it adds ZERO to the install base of ps3's....does anybody else realize this BASIC AND ELEMENTARY concept????

I laugh when i read some of these comments by people that think increased ps3 sales on ebay is a good thing for the ps3 or sony......sales of consoles on ebay means ABSOLUTELY ZERO!! it only means that there are a higher number of disgruntled ps3 owners trying to sell their ps3's....and the ones that are selling new ps3's simply bought them cheaper at a store and are turning around and selling and so the install base is th exact same!!

So let's get this straight; when the PS3 is outsold by the competitors on Ebay that's bad, yet when they sell more the perception remains unchanged?
