The development team that bought you such delights as CarVup, Premiere, Tomb Raider and many others, Core Design, looks like it took it's last gasp this morning. According to scuttlebug on the internet the studio, now known as Rebellion Derby after being purchased from SCi in 2006, will shutdown with almost immediate effect.
[Updated with official word from Rebellion HQ]

FuRuy has opened a Twitter account called “Project Alice” teasing a new game announcement on April 25 at 20:30 JST.

New report from Skillsearch found that 22% of those surveyed had been laid off within the past 12 months.

It's a step forward for Stop Killing Games.
Obviously lost all the talent along the way. Shame, about 15 years ago, Core used to be amazing.
Well, since they made Rouge Warrior, I don't think I feel too sorry for them, with or without considering TR.
They made Shellshock 2 and Rogue Warrior. I'm not surprised they're being closed down. Maybe if they had put some effort into those games, this wouldn't have happened. They brought it upon themselves, I'm afraid.
Tomb Raider was good. i even liked the Remake of it, Tomb Raider Anniversary.
other than that, what else did CORE make?
also was it them that kept pumping out lame TR games?
They are not closing doors! They are just shutting down one studio,AVP is still on works!
