I remember playing star chess with my family in 1981. One of my earliest memories, nevermind gaming memories. Damn it's gone quick.

I had a console I've never seen again anywhere else. The controller was like a little box with one button on top. It had a thin steel pin for a joystick that moved around in a full circle but was tilted about 10 degrees off square, abit like the joystick for 720 in arcades if anyone remembers that. "Skate or Die".

The only game I remember properly was a motorbike game that rode left to right and then dropped down a level when it got to the edge of the screen. There were boxes on the road and all you had to do was wheelie as you went over the boxes and you wouldnt crash.
Oh, and it had a bit where you hit a ramp flatout and had to jump more and more buses.

Maybe it wasnt a real console, but just a machine with a one game built in, and that might explain why I've never heard of it again , but I think we had 2 games, I just cant remember the other one. I'm pretty sure it was around 1980, before the NES, and for some reason Hanimex rings a bell, but I might be dreaming that.

Cant believe they didnt mention Game & Watch. Along with arcades, that where I really fell in love with games. Popeye, Donkey Kong, Oil Panic, and Octopus were the best.

I start up with NES and worked my way through the console wars between Sega Genesis then Super Nintendo to Playstation next was Sega Dreamcast from there I got a plastation 2 after that then was Microsoft Xbox with Xbox Live service right after was Xbox 360 also with Xbox Live blade menu at last the Playstation 3 now.

who would think the ps2 is still selling strong after the next gen consoles come out yet you hardly see a oringal xbox any more lol

The most EPIC! consoles at the time period was Playstation, Sega Dreamcast and Playstation 2.

This timeline sure takes me back...

I started gaming in the first years of the 1990's. This was a time where 2D games were at their peak in its golden era, the Arcades were beginning to breath their last breath, and the dawn of the 3D games was just around the corner; I never was aware of all that, though, because I was quite young at the time.

There were many consoles I have played in this decade ranging from the NES to the 3DO, and of course, the PS one which I hold in high regard. The 90's was a great time to be a gamer, and was one of those time periods that was exciting to grow up in with all this innovation and changes happening all around you. This decade wasn't too bad either, but has not come close, in my opinion. I'm sure the new generation would see this decade in a similar light the way I've seen mine.
