As promised at the Game Developers Conference months ago, the original Final Fantasy is now available for the Virtual Console for 500 Wii Points ($5). Square Enix has seemed hesitant to release its most popular franchise to the service, especially since the company has been making plenty of money repackaging and updating them for compilations and portable titles. Now that the first game has been released, we might see others follow."
