"Gamers around my age grew up as young kids around the Atari age, when dots and blips were the rage. I mean who remembers the Atari game Combat? A one on one combat game where you can choose your vehicle of choice to battle it out with each other. A damn near unplayable game nowadays, but in the mid 80's it was so much fun. Last generation the Playstation 2 had an amazing ability to be able to play your entire PlayStation library, how cool was that? You could buy a new system but continue to play all the games you loved for the previous 5 years."

It's a step forward for Stop Killing Games.
While the Ps2 is the greatest videogame console in the history of mankind, I as well as millions of other gamers purchased a PlayStation 3 inorder to play PlayStation 3 games.

"So with so much to look forward to, why look back?"
Because there are great games from the PS2 era that even by today standard are still superb. I would like to revisit MGS series and God of War.
I under stand were this person is coming from. But just because I like to look ahead to what new games are coming out soon does not mean I want to forget about the past. I have so many great back catalog games and if I knew I could play them I my mew systems I would be thrilled. Because this way I don't need to keep the old system around if the new ones can play the old games. So I for one hope Backwards compatibility comes back.
BC was one of the greart promises behind sony's playstation line. They touted it everywhere: investing in our software is an investment into the future, the game you buy today will work on all future playstation systems.
They fed this bs to us and then the ps3 happened. This is why people are fed up.
PS3 should be backwards compatible, or at least make a hardware bc sku. Its not like it would cost a lot either.
Heck, even MS has bc, albeit not for all games and loading original games on 360 is slower then mollasses. Nintendo doesn't really count with bc, since the wii is essentially a gc.
