Best two DLC expansions for Fallout 3, in my honest opinion.

EvilCackle6116d ago

Yep. Not even close in my opinion.

mrv3216115d ago

It'd be hard to disagree.

Here's how it goes

1.Broken Steel(proper Fallout 3 ending)
2.Point Lookout(proper DLC)
3.The Pitt(a bit like DLC but also a bit like an unfinished project)
4.Mothership Zeta(too linear but nice new weapons again feels like something they wanted in the game)
5.Operation Anchorage(This was supposed to be in-game I know it but it was unfinished at time of realeased)

cyguration6115d ago

what's wrong with the mothership? Aliens a little too much?

Rockox6115d ago

Very linear. No real exploration.

If I had to rate the DLCs from best to worst, it'd look like this:
1. Broken Steel
2. Point Lookout
3. The Pitt
4. Mothership Zeta
5. Operation: Anchorage

QuantumWake6115d ago (Edited 6115d ago )

MotherShip Zeta was alright... In my opinion, their were too many run and gunning sequences. The story was weak all around, and the new characters were not very interesting. Broken Steel and Point Lookout were the best out of the 5 DLC's. The Pitt was cool. Luckily though, I did not get buggy version. Operation Anchorage, well... It was kind of boring until that part where you accessed the armory in the end.

I can't wait to see what Bethesda does in the future with Fallout 3. But, they did say that Mothership Zeta was their last DLC for Fallout 3. And with Fallout: New Vegas on the way, who knows at this point. Anyways, Thank you Bethesda for the awesome support! Cheers! :D

TheColbertinator6115d ago

That is the best DLC pack bar none. You get a level perk, extended main story, plenty of new weapons, new areas to explore and a good amount of challenging enemies to test any Fallout 3 veteran

likedamaster6115d ago (Edited 6115d ago )

I'm a fan of The Pitt and Mothership Zeta. Those two did it for me. I even thought Operation Anchorage was cool -- taking different routes and all, and the last fight. Flame me I don't care. Also, level cap is irrelevant on pc version.

Fallout 3 has the best looking wastelands I've ever seen. That Rage game has its work cut out...

Rockox6115d ago

Even though I would call O:A the "worst" of the DLC, that's not to say I think it's bad. More Fallout is always good in my books, it's just that the other ones were so much better. And that gauss rifle you get at the end of O:A is awesome.

EvilCackle6115d ago

Gauss Rifle is pretty boss, yeah. Watching the whole bolt-action animation on it on slow-mo every time I'm in VATS is kind of annoying, though. It doesn't seem to have the same oomph anymore, either. Probably a combination of enemies getting stronger and the weapon's stats getting tweaked by patches.

I rented Fallout 3 and a great game but it was so long I never got to finish it before i had to return it so im definitely picking up the GOTY edition.

Would be nice if they had New Vegas ready as well, especially because of the show.

Hopefully this doesn't have the same performance issues as Oblivion Remastered.

cloganart128d ago

I haven't seen anything on these performance issues? What's been going on?

walken7128d ago

Probably the Unreal Engine issues, I skipped it for that reason.

Snookies12129d ago (Edited 129d ago )

Throw in all the DLC as well, like Oblivion and I'll definitely bite. I recall having one trophy left to unlock on the PS3 version with 100+ hours in my save. When my save file got corrupted, lol. Very sad day.

To be fair though, Bethesda was trash at Playstation ports anyway.

Michiel1989128d ago

all devs sucked at porting to ps3 for the first like 3 years because no one had experience with the cell architecture. Even 1st party took a long while to get proficient with it, the difference between uncharted 1 and 3 is massive for example.

Extermin8or3_129d ago

Oh oh oh I can do this too. GTA 7 will be made at some point in the future. Fallout 5 will enter development in the future too

jznrpg129d ago

Everyone there should know most gamers want New Vegas and Morrowind more than anything.

Christopher128d ago

Which is why we won't get them. Gotta keep floating "support this one and it might happen".

BlaqMagiq1129d ago

Can't wait. Won't have to go back to my PS3 to play this when it comes out.

Fallout 3 remastered on the Nintendo Switch 2 is what we deserve, not the worst Fallout game

Fallout Day's disappointing news that Fallout 4 is coming to Switch 2 is a shame, as this 17-year-old entry is more deserving of a new port.

Why exactly do you think you deserve it??

Phoenix76201d ago

Fallout 4 isn't the worst game in the franchise. It's either Fallout 76 or Fallout BOS that's the worst.

gigoran8200d ago

PC and all other modern consoles never got a remaster of 3, but obviously the switch 2 was the tipping point to make it a reality... ahuh

1nsomniac200d ago

Meh, I thought 3 was garbage. I'm not a great fan of the franchise to be fair. They're like B-Movie films, really shallow and janky. 4 was definitely one of the better ones though.

UltimateOwnage200d ago

So the article makes a snippy entitled statement and acts like that is going to encourage a publisher to give them what they want. Okay.

Give us FO3 with all the dlc remastered like ESO. Load times faster, quality of life improvements, gun play improvements

I believe it shouldn't just be graphical they should make improvements where they can to make the game better. A simple face lift isn't what's needed

ZeekQuattro388d ago

Still my favorite one. I remember getting a digital copy of FO3 when I got FO4(XBO). It was nice to finally play a stable version of the game. Then when I got a Series S it was an even better expierence. Quick resume and FPS boost made it feel like a whole new game. Updated gunplay would be very welcome though. One of the few things FO4 did better.
