Fallout 3 Downloadable Content on PSN

We're excited and eager to bring Fallout 3 DLC to PSN. Unfortunately, the content is going to be releasing later than originally expected. Our DLC expands on the original game tremendously - each DLC offering 4-6 hours of additional content - and is no trivial undertaking. Here's a brief look at the DLC you'll be able to play.

* Operation: Anchorage (pictured above) – Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe - the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders.
* The Pitt (pictured below) – Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh and choose sides in the battle between the slaves and the slavers.
* Broken Steel (pictured below) – Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest and raises the game's level cap to 30.
* Point Lookout – Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content.
* Mothership Zeta – The aliens have returned, and they're pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you're tough enough to survive.

about time! im not even close to completing fallout 3 though lol im trying to catch up on games i havent finished yet..i still have call of juarez wrapped in the plastic!

WhittO6151d ago

lol @ the reception they are getting on the blog, not suprising though, they did "lie" and say the DLC was never coming to PS3..

ToastyMcNibbles6151d ago (Edited 6151d ago )

lol i was just reading the comments on the blog...although im glad the dlc is finally coming i gotta agree with a lot of what people are saying...there was one person in particular that caught my eye he stated something like.. everyone and their grandmother supported bethesda and the ps3 version of fallout 3, a gimped version of a game with dlc coming almost a year later but no one supports developers like naughty dog, insomniac and sucker punch to name a few... no matter how much i like fallout 3 i couldnt have said it any better

Winter47th6151d ago

Your excitement and eager's misplaced.

lloyd_wonder6151d ago (Edited 6151d ago )

"you guys are asses, and have some of the worst back assed support for the ps3………. period."

lol

LordMarius6151d ago

After reading those comments my curiosity for Fallout 3 has died,

Camper6151d ago

Every ps3 owners should avoid this DLC its not even worth it

HBK6196151d ago (Edited 6151d ago )

That is a brilliant comment ToastMan, whoever wrote it deserves an award!!!

You do have to wonder sometimes why great developers who really back and support a console don't get exactly what they should.

Naughty Dog is an absolute shining example of where every developer should be at. Pushing the system to it's limits, giving the fans WHAT THEY WANT, constant support and improvements by the day. Just insane that the game sales for Uncharted 2 will probably end up at not a huge amount more than Fallout 3 sold on the PS3 (Although I desperately hope for more).

Why do developers continue to support a console if they are gimping the game to stupid extents?

I am glad they are bringing the DLC to the PS3 now, but I can certainly see why people would by shying away. Veritable dogs act.

Granted I am going to be buying the GOTY copy of the game so should probably shut my mouth. :P

ToastyMcNibbles6151d ago (Edited 6151d ago )

haha i should keep my mouth shut too because i probably will buy the dlc at some point but regardless you're absolutely right about everything you said...i do hope uncharted 2 gets released in september so they can get as many sales as they can as opposed to releasing in november being crowded up against games like assassin's creed 2 and call of duty...hopefully a collector's edition is announced soon because if it is i am upgrading my pre-order the minute it does...naughty dog is getting my money no matter what

HBK6196151d ago (Edited 6151d ago )

True, it tends to be a contradiction when you get so pissed off at one dev taking something away from you or not giving you anything in the first place while rewarding others. But then you go and buy the title anyway!

Guess we can't resist the temptation sometimes, makes me wonder what would happen if I had one really hot chick in front of me who is dumb as mud and another chick who is fairly average looking but will be a perfect match for personality. I know which one I would take while spouting that I would rather the other though while enjoying the one I have IMMENSELY. :P

Not saying that Uncharted 2 is the personality though, more that buying Fallout 3 is the dumb but awesomely hot chick and not buying it is the personality.

Thankfully I will be giving my money to ND and Uncharted 2 as well though. Would easily pay for more than double the retail for a CE version of Uncharted 2. I'll be buying Uncharted: DF soon enough too. So double the money for ND. :D

gambare6151d ago

I hope one rumor about that is truth, they are supposed to bring a pre-patch before the release of the DLC that will make fixes on the PS3 version like some framerate issues and crashes in the game.

njr6151d ago

Point Lookout is the best DLC so far, but broken steel should be activated first so the level cap is raised.

Smart move releasing Broken Steel first.

Brixxer6006151d ago

It's on it's way and that's all that matters to me.

LtSkittles6151d ago

Can't wait, but newer games are still important. I wish companies wouldn't treat anybody like step-children.

Would be nice if they had New Vegas ready as well, especially because of the show.

Hopefully this doesn't have the same performance issues as Oblivion Remastered.

cloganart127d ago

I haven't seen anything on these performance issues? What's been going on?

walken7127d ago

Probably the Unreal Engine issues, I skipped it for that reason.

Snookies12128d ago (Edited 128d ago )

Throw in all the DLC as well, like Oblivion and I'll definitely bite. I recall having one trophy left to unlock on the PS3 version with 100+ hours in my save. When my save file got corrupted, lol. Very sad day.

To be fair though, Bethesda was trash at Playstation ports anyway.

Michiel1989127d ago

all devs sucked at porting to ps3 for the first like 3 years because no one had experience with the cell architecture. Even 1st party took a long while to get proficient with it, the difference between uncharted 1 and 3 is massive for example.

Extermin8or3_127d ago

Oh oh oh I can do this too. GTA 7 will be made at some point in the future. Fallout 5 will enter development in the future too

jznrpg127d ago

Everyone there should know most gamers want New Vegas and Morrowind more than anything.

Christopher127d ago

Which is why we won't get them. Gotta keep floating "support this one and it might happen".

BlaqMagiq1127d ago

Can't wait. Won't have to go back to my PS3 to play this when it comes out.

Fallout 3 remastered on the Nintendo Switch 2 is what we deserve, not the worst Fallout game

Fallout Day's disappointing news that Fallout 4 is coming to Switch 2 is a shame, as this 17-year-old entry is more deserving of a new port.

Why exactly do you think you deserve it??

Phoenix76199d ago

Fallout 4 isn't the worst game in the franchise. It's either Fallout 76 or Fallout BOS that's the worst.

gigoran8199d ago

PC and all other modern consoles never got a remaster of 3, but obviously the switch 2 was the tipping point to make it a reality... ahuh

1nsomniac199d ago

Meh, I thought 3 was garbage. I'm not a great fan of the franchise to be fair. They're like B-Movie films, really shallow and janky. 4 was definitely one of the better ones though.

UltimateOwnage199d ago

So the article makes a snippy entitled statement and acts like that is going to encourage a publisher to give them what they want. Okay.

Give us FO3 with all the dlc remastered like ESO. Load times faster, quality of life improvements, gun play improvements

I believe it shouldn't just be graphical they should make improvements where they can to make the game better. A simple face lift isn't what's needed

ZeekQuattro387d ago

Still my favorite one. I remember getting a digital copy of FO3 when I got FO4(XBO). It was nice to finally play a stable version of the game. Then when I got a Series S it was an even better expierence. Quick resume and FPS boost made it feel like a whole new game. Updated gunplay would be very welcome though. One of the few things FO4 did better.
