Anyways i predicted this would happen 5 years is about right for a new console. The only console maker that has proven time again that they last is Sony not Microsoft. Plus with that inferior hardware you can't last till 2013 or 2015 whatever they are predicting.

Says the company that said its console didn't need HDMI, and now has HDMI as standard newer consoles. Said they don't need a HDD either, doesn't need memory, yet have quietly gone from 1/4GB to 1/2 internal memory in their newest model of console.

ok, i just ordered a brand new xbox 360 elite at dell.com (got 1 for 320$, they just has a sale that expired yesterday) anyways do i need to order the transfer cable or the memery card, ack so confused

p.s. i still have my 20gig with me but I DONT have my OLD console, it E74 on me and sold it for parts

I mean how can there be a "New Xbox 360"... it's obvious they were talking about the SKU to launch with Project Natal but not an new console.

So he Ballmer mentioned a new 360 which also seem to confirm the rumor from 1UP and then Greenberg says there will be no new console? Sounds like damage control to me. It's already been leaked and i'm sure we will see a new console from Microsoft next year.

The writing is on the wall. They won't admit it now, because they don't have to, but the 360 has about a year after the launch of the new system. They will quietly stop making 360's and claim it's because there isn't the demand with the new other system out taking the sales. The games that are supposedly going to run on both systems will quickly start to run like crap on 360's about the time right before the 360 is dropped, and basically kids are forced to buy the new system or else.

I just didn't think they would fess up to much more than what they said a couple weeks ago until much later because even though the story will continue to change, it will never get better.

This is great news for Xbox 360 enthusiasts everywhere, I can not contain my excitement at this announcement. It really seems that Xbox 360 is pulling away from the inferior PS3 at warp speed now the PS3 feels so last gen compared to Xbox 360.

If Ballmer said a new 'Xbox 360' is coming, than Greenburg's either saying he's making stuff up or he doesn't really know whats going on. Unless it is just an new SKU but I wouldnt think he would go on to talk seperately about Natal. Its probably all just taken out of context.

Regardless, I would watch my step with Ballmer if I were Greenburg, Ballmer might go into a coke fueled rage and kick the Sh!t outta him.

why Greenburg is denying a XBOX 360 new sku is because they do not want people to not buy 360s for the rest of the year just to wait for the new 360 sku. Sony does this too.

why would MS even want to release a new console when they are in a great position this gen compared to the entry late to the party xbox1.for example they are leading last gens runaway leaders,have the far and away best exclusives SALES and excellent online plus the best looking and selling multi platform games.the gap in graphics between ps3 and 360 has not materalised as it turns out they are about equal with 360 still winning the graphics on 90 percent of games released.IF IT WASNT FOR BLU RAY THE 360 WOULD MAKE THE NEWER PS3 LOOK OBSOLETE

If you ask Apple about the new iphone months ago they would insists that no such thing exists. Its the same deal here. There's another Xbox coming and soon. There's no way in hell MS is willing to let the 360 ride till 2015. By then a quad core iphone or whatever mobile device they have at that time, will be able out muscle this "console".

Let's just wait & see till TGS 09'. And see wats new comming out for 2010.

well i've told a friend of mine to wait til next year because i think this is going to be a new console and now MS are saying this to make sure they sell the old 360 at Christmas. if you buy a 360 now, you are going to get burned next year, mark my words

Watch MS announce X Box 720 in 2010 at E3. They say this now, but they WILL reveal the new console before the 360 dies.

It didn't sound like it was going to be an all new console to me. What I got from it was that he was talking about Natal. I am sure we will see a new Xbox in a couple years and it sounds like they will keep supporting the 360 at the same time.
