What they need to to be doing is get more of their buddies to buy the PS3 or donate money to the folks that cant afford PS3 and convice them of the bright future of Sony's new console.

...of Dante standing infront of an abandoned castle in snow, I thought 'deformable snow'. Yeah it was in 2005 and yeah unlike most of the people on the board I was genuinely intrigued by game content rendered in real time through 'procedures' even at that time.

...Then I came to know that the game will have more content than all the 3 PS2's masterpieces combined.......making a confirm load of at least 15 GBs of data and an additional chunk of space for next-gen textures I presumed.

...An year later, the dev announced that the game will show the true potential of PS3, and clearly I assumed lots of physics, an insane level of environment destruction and complex geometry operations through SPUs, as these are clear advantages of CELL(thoroughly exhibited in MotorStorm and Lair, and the 'intact' environments of Resistance).

BUT NOW,

I'm not sure any of the above remains true. Lost Planet couldn't really perform snow deformations as a 360 title, but DMC4 not doing that won't be acceptable, we'll have to see. Clearly the game doen't take any more space than 8 GB now so its a 'bye-bye' to more content than all the previous 3 games combined. Also as this game takes only two cores to run upon(being a PC title as well), its clear that it won't see a SPU dedicated to physics routines or procedural synthesis. Only GPU intensive games, like gears or Crysis, aren't in my share of likings, so i'll wait for E3, if the game is nothing more than just a texture upgrade to previous titles.......I'm signing the petition !!!

Capcom is a 3rd party publisher and not owned by Sony, the fact is that you don't see Microsoft fanboys complaining that Oblivion is going onto the PS3.

A petition (especially on the internet) will not work, and the fact is Capcom is not gonna get rid of all of there hardwork becuase a few fans do not know how business works.

Like stated before this isn't inpacked any one really. The count is at 6800 or so right now. Your telling me that 6800 people that liked the series are not going to buy the game now because it's multi-platform. Either they have Sony fanboyism bad or they really don't like the series, if Halo (one of my favorite games) went cross platform I wouldn't care in the slighest. Amazing, 5800 people signed an online petition. I think you need a few more than that to matter. Being an online petition, you need multiple millions of signatures to be taken seriously. I think capcom fans should be happy that they're not forced to play it on the ps3, they have a better option now on the 360 or with the 360 controller on the PC.

This is a business decision made in a business industry??? People want to make more money and with the install base of one console alone ofcourse a major third party would want to go multi. The only games you can count on being exclusive to specific consoles anymore are 1st party games. I could see these people being upset if the game was only going to be released on the XBox 360 now after being advertised as a PS3 game. Sony still has a lot of great 1st party developers and IPs, so I don't know what the big deal is. Maybe the xbox boys should start a petition against Ninja Gaiden Sigma being a PS3 exclusive when it started out on the XBox as an exclusive! :) If DMC4 is going to be such a great game anyway...isn't it better that more gamers get to experience it?

I wouldn't give a damn Halo 3 being on PS3, God of War 3 being on Xbox 360 (which are impossible). I'd just play my game on the system I feel the most comfortable. That's what I exactly did in last-generation, and most definitely the way I'm headed in this generation.

I'm still buying it for my PS3...depending on when it comes out. Because I know the very day Fable 2 comes it is the day I buy a 360. If it ends up looking better on the 360, i'll definitely get it for that instead.

As long as the ps3 version doesn´t suffer from I couldnt care less. But if they make a bad game because they have to concentrate on 2 version then I´m dissapointed.

We are done with RE and DMC, so the sony is. Old stories and old games always go multiplatform, I have seen it many times.

I don’t think Capcom is going to have a hard time finding fans to replace those on the 360. I mean with 11 million consoles sold and millions of copies of Dead Rising and Lost Planet clearly the 360 owners love Capcom games and Capcom can clearly see the light of potential sales on the 360. I'm a 360 owner and i certainly don't want to see this or most other Japanese style games on the 360. I much prefer western style Fps/RPG and adventures. I just don't get these hack 'n/slash , boss heavy games.So i'll deffinately be signing for it to stay PS3 exclusive.To be honest though and my own views aside, i do think its in the interest of all gamers if most games go multi platform.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
