I think it's the other way around... Infamous looks like much deeper of a game, I think Prototype is scared of Infamous..

Btw... Infamous is a day1 purchase

- Ghost of Sparta -6241d ago (Edited 6241d ago )

Prototype was delayed. Sucker Punch are already finished with Infamous. Why wait and release it so close to Prototype? That's called moronic strategy.

I'm still trying to figure out why they're not releasing Prototype on the Wii 'cause from a technical standpoint, there is no reason why Prototype shouldn't or couldn't be ported. Prototype is, in short, an HD remake of Hulk: Ultimate Destruction on the PS2 with a different character.

CaseyRyback_CPO6241d ago (Edited 6241d ago )

"Prototype looks like it was delayed from last gen"

SuckerPunch vs some flop developer? lol..

6241d ago
Danja6241d ago

it makes sense from a business standpoint if they both release on the same day one will cut into the other sales either way..

so it makes sense to make sure the better game gets a head start out the door...

morganfell6241d ago

Ask IGN who should be scared.

And can we stop approving these trash blogs. The writer asks a ridiculous question obviously designed to induce hits and then never bothers to answer said question.

Baka-akaB6241d ago

LOl it's silly , actually they said prototype was retarded some eons ago . And when was it ? Right when vids and infos of Infamous appeared , and when pretty everyone agree that Prototype didnt look pretty while somewhat interesting .

jwatt6241d ago

They both look fun in my opinion

cmrbe6241d ago

looks like alot of fun but i think it will be not as serious or as deep as Infamous.

Prototype looks like an evolution of Hulk UD. Over the top action superpowers which is fun.

As an adult i wish for a more serious and engageing plot/storyline similar to MGS. I want more MGS story telling than say Gears or KZ.

Rainstorm816241d ago

Infamous - Day 1 purchase

Prototype - A Rent and send back kind of game

Period

Prototype devs should thank sucker punch for pushing up the game.

Shepherd 2146241d ago (Edited 6241d ago )

i bet Haze was a day one purchase too wasnt it.

Dont be so quick to condemn Prototype when you dont even actually know how good or bad Infamous will be.

Jaces6241d ago

Just like Too Human was a 1st day purchase, eh?

steck676241d ago (Edited 6241d ago )

"I think it's the other way around"

I was just about to say that lol.

Last time I saw Prototype it didnt look special at all, it was just meh IMO.

Infamous day one buy for me as well :)

Seraphim6241d ago

both games have always been on a similar schedule & both were announced what? the same day or week? What I don't get is why Activision would even bother releasing Prototype anytime near inFAMOUS. 97+% of PS3 owners are going to take inFAMOUS over Prototype regardless of release date. this article is dribble...

aldesko6241d ago

Prototype moved it's release up first to coincide with infamous' rumored release date, then they got Sucker Punched!

y0haN6241d ago

I agree with 1.0, inFamous looks like a much better game, but what do you expect from an exclusive.

ZuperAmazingCooKie6241d ago

Both seem great, I'll get both probably

Beast_Master6240d ago

Umm, did anyone notice that Prototype moved up to June 9th 3 days after IGN posted a June 9th date for Infamous? Then Sony moved Infamous up to the 26th. So it is obvious Prototype is scared. I will bet anyone that we will see reviews for Infamous 2 weeks before the game is released because Sony and Sucker Punch are so confident. Good luck finding a review of Prototype on launch day.

terrandragon6240d ago

I was one of the few who liked Too Human. inFamous greatly overpowers Prototype in terms of story and graphics. Gameplay differs, but not by much.

Shepherd 2146240d ago

did i mention Too Human? No, i didnt. In fact the demo was enough to convince me not to get the game, so no i didnt buy the game at all.

I mentioned Haze because everyone is hyping up Infamous and bashing Prototype when Infamous could turn out to be another Haze. Being excited for Infamous is all well and good, but when your degrading another game when you havent the slightest clue about whether each one will actually be good or not, youring making an ass out of yourself.

Jaces6240d ago

All I was saying was that Too Human was overhyped too. Don't care if you mentioned it or not.

Dark General6240d ago

A inanimate object scared of another inanimate object? Amazing.

Shepherd 2146240d ago

im glad you made fun of my typo because it shows you have nothing else that is intelligent to say. Goodbye, fanboy.

Jaces6240d ago

Oooh, so that's why you have 3 bubbles.

oh god now infamous is scared of prototype? get real

cmrbe6241d ago

To Sony they know that both games will be on the PS3 and it dosen't make any sense to release both games which are very similar in the same month. Now the decision for PS3 fans that were haveing a hard time to pick which game to buy in June is made alot easier.

It's childish to think that Sony is Brave if they still release Infamous in June to challenge Prototype lol!. Its not a school yard lol!. Its business.

-EvoAnubis-6241d ago (Edited 6241d ago )

Let's not forget who moved their date first. It was Prototype that pulled their release date back so they could be on inFamous's launch day, but Sony wanted inFamous to own its day, so they pulled it back as well. Smart move, I'd've done the same.

Edit: I did read the article. This was simply a response to the question. If you didn't want an answer to the question, you should not have asked it.

Nick2120046241d ago

I never said it was not smart. If you read the article you would see that it states something different. That is why there is a question mark at the end of the title.

TheBand1t6241d ago

Scared? Nah. Think of this as a way to avoid stepping on each other's feet.

trane076241d ago (Edited 6241d ago )

Uh...didn't one get delayed? So if a company wants its game out first to garner better sales, for some reason that company is "scared". Your title makes no sense after reading your article. Ugh..journalism isn't for everyone.

Ilikegames766240d ago

MS. They released their console a year earlier, because they are scared of Sony.

gears226241d ago

So you guys complain when Sony is droping the ball with advertisement and that they're not competetive, and now when they're trying..you complain again.

Hypocrites.

Ranking The Coldest, Most Ruthless Protagonists In Gaming

Not all video game protagonists are sweet, jolly, or wholesome. Folks like Agent 47 are cold, ruthless, and reserved and it shows.

cloganart670d ago

I'd like to believe Joel's situation is more about turning into a calloused survivor in a cold-hard world who may have made selfish decisions. Not inherently ruthless.

Armyofdarkness671d ago

Ah, fond memories of strangling all the people in their hotel rooms in Hitman 1

bunt-custardly671d ago

Lara Croft, Nathan Drake etc, cos they pretend to be the good guys but are mass murderers that show no remorse.

Atleast release a remaster trilogy or something to gage interest. I'd buy it. With that said I'm pretty over superheroes at this point. Infamous is still dope as fk though so it'd be a buy

isarai693d ago

Omfg i would go apesh!t for that 😩

jznrpg694d ago

I agree but games take 4-6 years to make so who knows when they would do it? After Ghost of Tsushima2? They could have something else in the world as well in early production who knows.

mkis007693d ago

It's a shame Sucker Punch finally figured out a good open world formula only while making Ghost of Tsushima. Infamous 1 and 2 were great for their time, but Second son felt too much like a checklist in It's design. I love the hell out of all 3 games (2 and 3 are just so damn good, while 1 shows it's age and the ps3 struggles), but I would love to see how they would do another infamous with all they have learned. Wouldn't hurt to release a remastered collection either.

Demetrius693d ago (Edited 693d ago )

This series, days gone, will continue to get ignored by sony, luckily we still have the horizon series, sly cooper not getting pushed anymore, speaking of that I'm bout to get on my ps2 and play some sly 2 anyways lol, but seriously I never woulda thought back then sony would ever cold shoulder most of their franchises I'm actually surprised they're still letting ratchet&clank be around
