Infamous is from SP and seems to be a more serious of the two.

Why? PS3 people get to play both games. 360 owners could only play one game and troll the site once they're done with it.

Im a ps3 fanboy and i'll will probably take Prototype. Infamous for me look like a overhypped exclusivity like haze. The game seems to sucks hard... Really hard.

disappoint, yet again. I knew as soon as I read the title that Prototype was going to be crap and Infamous is going to be the sh!t. Glad you all didn't disappoint me. BTW both of these games seem less and less interesting the more that comes out about each.

infamous = assassin's creed + force unleased

prototype = hulk ultimate destruction + guns

i'm predicting infamous will be better looking, more depth, and more fun overall.. prototype, like hulk ultimate destruction, just gets old fast.

I cant say i wont give prototype a rent. The game looks very fun.. i mean mindless fun, fly and slam a tank, or slide on an enemy leaving a red line on the concrete.

Graphically infamous destroys prototype but for some reasons, prototype looks more fun for me.

If you have a PS3 buy both or which ever one you like more.

If yur lucky enough to have a PS3 get Infamous yu can't go wrong with an exclusive.

Then get Prototype later on because it will definatly go down in price as a multiplatform if gamers on gamespot not reveiwers say it's good.

why I purchased (and was given) all platforms: so I don't have to wonder if I'm ever missing out. Expensive option up front, but long term is worth every single penny.

Some will love the storyline of inFAMOUS and the gameplay. It looks fun and engaging and the fact that actions have consequences, means a lot to me, it adds a level of game play and replayability.

First you play as the hero, then you play as a total villan, then you play somewhere in between.

Prototype seems like, "Hulk Smash" all tearassing through town, killing and destroying everything in you path, without consequence, just get to the end.

For me, the choice is simple and easy.

i like how u can kill people in prototype (no, i dont have any assessin mental issue lol) but, yes, jbat17 is right, it will be like Hulk: UD and.. that game-style gets bored so fast, still i might get both.

Lol the article is pure speculation, and the comments stemming from it are comprised of "Infamous sucks", or "Infamous kicks ass". Ironically nither game has more then a few trailers, and from what ive seen the're both looking up to par.

Whenever I look at Prototype I am instantly reminded of mediocre sand-box titles such as Spiderman: Web of Shadows ie: dull graphics, bland looking New York City and more focus on quantity than quality.
InFamous looks original and more technical. The textures are the best yet in an open-world game. The city is detailed to the max and the gameplay just looks fun in general.

Lets not forget that Prototype is using the same city that has appeared in almost every sand-box game, New York City. Seriously I'm sick of seeing that city in every freakin' game.
InFamous however has a completely made-up city built from the imaginary minds at Sucker Punch.

I also think the story in inFamous is much more interesting. Prototype's story about fighting against a corrupt government just sounds really generic to me.

I will definitely pick up infamous, while ill wait for a demo on prototype. Im a little scared that prototype may be to much hulk inspired. But i hope im wrong.

The Maw on xbox live market place, so its been done before (Check it out, free trial, game looks sweet on a 1080p screen). Anywho, I'll more than likely be getting Infamous and will keep prototype on my radar for now.

I wish I had a 360 to play it...I'm happy with my PS3 of course, but I wouldn't mind owning a 360 for games like Star Ocean, Ninja Blade and Gears...

Don't care. Getting both, because I have the power of the PS3.

I'm thinking that Prototype is going to be more fun and chaotic and possibly have more interesting game mechanics and Alex can drive vecichles, consuming people running up walls and consuming to gain abilities ala Kirby sounds awesome and seems to be an extention to the Crackdown formula. Also, you can throw people into helicopters and unlock lots of powers and forms.

HOWEVER

Infamous has far better graphics than Prototype and seems to be more a game about 'becoming the hero', playing the genesis story of Cole becoming a superhero or even a antihero. The mission structure of the footage of Infamous looks better because it reminds me of Jak2. The intial plot reminds me of the movie 'Unbreakable' and that isn't a bad thing. Just having the power over electric is bound to play good as apparently the electric will conduct through metal and travel through water, this also stops Cole from driving cars though, but is replaced with great parkour climbing.

So. I really don't care, both sound uniquely great and have pro and cons.
Prototype has average graphics, probably has less of a story and probably less varied gameplay.
Infamous'es main con is not being able to drive, I fear that not being able to drive might break the realism of an open world.

Can't wait to get both.

I dont know the recent videos of infamous revealed amazing physics and manipulation but the textures looks like Sh!t..
im gonna say this out right the engine is vast and large but the textures didn't remind me of anything next Gen !! I dont know if this was due to early stages or video compression in the video trailer.BUt damn it looked cheap as Guggghk.

ok guys you cant compare an average game developer with sucker punch (great developer)and just by looking at the games its noticeable!!!!! you cant compare the both...prototype will be another dark sector looks good,fun and has action but it gets boring really quick!!!! infamous will be a better quality game!!! ok here it goes im predicting infamous will get better review scores!!!!!prototype will range from 6.5-8.5 while infamous will be from 8.5- 9.5..just remember my words.just go look at the trailers of both and you decide..xbox 360 owners are going down hill...the ps3 already has the best games in each genre and theyre exclusives...ps3 has the best fps ever killzone 2,the best baseball game mlb 09 the show,the best off road racing game motorstorm,best strategy rpg valkyria chronicles,best platformer in ratchet and clank. and a really awesome game that in my opinion beats gears of war experience uncharted!!!!! ps3 is slowly ruling in the games department!!!!!

Both games will be good,but i will buy inFamous.

Look at the devepors history of both games.
Sucker Punch makes nothing but good games.
the other developer makes mediocre games.

I think both will be good, but I tink people are expecting too much from Prototype. It seems that you'll have fun with it for 1 hour and then you would probably want to throw the CD out of the window.
Anyways, since I love the superhero theme and can probably only afford one game I'll go with InFamous. And because I know Sucker Punch can deliver.

For me, well I'll be buying both, but I am really looking forward to inFAMOUS the most out of both.

inFAMOUS is my smokey GOTY pick for '09, I think that if as it looks the story is really engaging and has that really fantastic and original super-hero type theme to it, with the 1 core ability able to be refined and maxed out in numerous ways, then reviewers and such will love it, not to mention myself too, am really looking forward to the parkour and platformer elements to the game as well.

Prototype for me at the moment is looking a bit of a mixing of too much, I have a real feeling it will end up having a ton of abilities and such, but none will have been refined to the stage that inFAMOUS have done with just their one core ability.

I hope I am proved wrong with Prototype(And I would go into more on the pro's and con's, but I am not writing an article, merely a single post and don't want it to be too long), as I thought that game looked awesome the very first time I saw it, but since it has started to look like that typically generic open-world game of a Spiderman(Not 2, which was pretty good) or Hulk.

I may buy both. They both look pretty good.

Honestly I'm looking forward to inFAMOUS a lot more but Prototype has interested me since it was first announced and I will probab;y check it out. If there is a demo for the game it'll probably go some way to making up my mind whether or not ot buy it.

I am excited for both but I will say after watching the gameplay trailers for inFAMOUS added on PSN it's not all that graphically impressive and the updated look of Prototype matches it.

I noticed very dumb AI in the inFAMOUS Powers trailer. When he starts blowing up all the cars and all pedostrians just keep walking as if nothing is happening as fire and car pieces are hitting them.

It looks like it will be fun gameplay wise but other than that the rest looks "meh". I need to see more of Prototype but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.

it was prototype>infamous for me initally, i like prototype's concept better, but lately, it seems the prototype might fall into the rinse-lather-repeat trap. Most of the missions are basiclly kill x amount of ppl in x amout of minutes for x amout of ep. While i might be wrong, thats starting to dissuade me form getting it. Infamous looks like it keeps improving, and story is a big factor for me in games, and infamous looks like the stronger of the 2 in that regard, but all the gameplay vids of infamous with god mode on are not helping it imo. Both games will do wonders for the Superhero genre of games, adn if prototype gets anything <=8, ill get it, infamous im getting on day one. Both games will be fun to paly, prototype and its TH:UD gamplay, and infamous with its story and diffrent concpt. PEOPLE NEED TO STOP BASHING EITHER GAME, for the simple reason of they are not out yet, in final form, or demo. only then can you judge on which game is better, just cause infamous is a ps3 ex DOES NOT mean that is alrady better, i think haze proved that point

inFamous seems more interesting to me, but I will be renting Prototype. The reason why inFamous interests me more is mainly because of the developers.

I think I'm the only person on the planet not excited about inFamous. I'm just not into the idea. Having an open world, running around and zapping people with your superheroes. Meh.

b) Infamous has one power - electricity - it looks super repetitive. I can't even describe how many powers I've seen in the Prototype videos but it's wayy more varied. Infamous gets boring fast.
c) Prototype at comic con absolutely slayed people - the gfx are amazing - the videos simply don't do it justice
d) Infamous just looks really repetitive - it's just something about their videos that screams 'over-hyped'.

I would create Prototype 3 before this great gem of a game
but yes love to see it continue !

A new Infamous being produced in this current agenda stricken videogame climate would probably just be a disaster.
