The first was a mediocre game in a time where gamers were starved for games. However I must say I'm pretty darn impressed from what I saw. The graphics down to the modeling look vastly improved, and the environments, and gameplay also look much more varied, plus co-op is always a huge plus. I just hope they got rid of that time limit mechanic. It looks like a solid rental or possibly even a purchase if the multiplayer is up to par. I'll be watching the development of this game for sure though. Capcom is known for quality products.

P.S. I love the perspective of the boss battles. It made the creatures look truly ginormous.

I came away with mixed impressions. First of all, the cutscenes were an absolute joke. After the first few, I skipped them, the story was trash. Some of the boss fights were extremely frustrating, especially the Wasp about midway through. What made it so hard was, a few shots and you fall down, which makes you an easy target. What I did really love about the game was, some of the enemies were so large that at times I felt like I was fighting multiple bosses in a huge Starship Trooper War, very cool. Overall I'd give it somewhere around a 7/10. I never did play online, when I rented it I only had a 360 and no XBL. Now all I have is a PS3, and that's all I need. Here's hoping this game isn't a timed exclusive, I look forward to it and hope Capcom makes the correct changes. I think it could be a hit.

My GODDDDD .... last week I was thinkin that now capcom has got the engine in their possession which delivered excellent graphically built RE5. What about other games ... if they use the same engine, games will look astonishingly beautiful ... and this Lost Planet 2 ... is simply best thing Ive ever seen after RE5 graphics wise. Simply amazing. Nice job Capcom ... you got definite customer here for this game. I only got one request ... can u please develop any FPS game, cause if u do that will set a new bar which KZ2 holds atm.

So this was the great.... mind blowing secret announcement coming in the week of KillZone 2 launch... I guess as an attempt to Microsoft to detract from PS3 first truly great FPS!!!! What a let down... even the blind know that Lost Planet 2 was a sure thing. Damn.. first GTA4 download content, Halo Wars sh*t and now this... geez the next time Microsoft 360 division whats to make noise the week of a great AAA title PS3 launch they need to announce something like God Of War 3 is now an 360 exclusive. Anything outside of that (which will never EVER happen) is just something thats not even worth mentioning.
I know Lost Planet 2 will be a good game... but it like all of 360 announcements and release this month will be a bug stain on the Boot of KillZone 2.

This looks much better and fun now since they have added a 4 player co-op experience. LP2 is up there with Gears in my book as one of the best looking games this gen so far.

That was probably one of the most impressive graphical showcase I've ever seen.

But is it 360 exclusive or what? I mean, the trailer premiered on XBOX live, and they even mentioned Microsoft but they never say "coming for XBOX 360 and PC.

They never mention anything about platform. Seing that Capcom worked with Microsoft on premiering this trailer on XBOX live, you would think that's the first thing they'd say. Microsoft wastes no time in letting people know that a game isn't coming to PS3.

the graphics were nice but it wasn,t in game as the man said,nearly all done from there game engine,touch ups can be huge in terms of overall graphic appearance,it could even be a pc version touch up trailer.lets face facts resi looked great but the demo didn,t match the trailers,not a good way to show your game if its well below the trailer quality,i,m calling bull on this quality,far cry 2 ring a bell that was a game well below the trailer that was shown.we can hope but i,ve being burned to many times i wiil wait for a demo.

I certainly am excited for Lost Planet squared.

This looks like...well...Lost Planet. Hit the enemy's weak point for MASSIVE DAMAGE, repetitive gameplay, lackluster storyline, etc.

Look at the sales history for Lost Planet. It sold really well for the first two weeks. Then, it dropped off. The same thing happened with Lair. It was all hype. Nobody actually LIKES Lost Planet. The only reason some of you are backing it up now is that Killzone 2 is coming out this week. Also, we just got a glimpse of God of War III. You need all the resistance you can get. (See what I did there?)

In all seriousness, don't waste your typing. Wait for an Alan Wake trailer. That game looks AMAZING! Otherwise, the PS3 fanboys will just laugh at you for wanting another Lost Planet.

honestly, that looked stunning. i was telling myself "meh, it's all just CGI", but then they said it was mostly in-game footage... damn. color me impressed.

and people say Japanese devs cant keep up with their Western counterparts graphically... (MGS4 already proved them wrong, but i'm glad Capcom is not falling behind either with this and RE5 etc)

It looks very impressive for in-game footage, sounds like they're putting a lot of work into multiplayer and co-op

I personally was hoping for something else but i think i like what I saw, also nice that parts of the planet have melted and there are jungles and more colorful environments

Lighting is exactly the same as Rez evil 5. Its probably part and parcel of the same engine.

Explosions are the same as well.

After Lost Planet, I would have like the sequal to be more about taking the planet back from the Snow Pirates rather than having to fight a lot more Akrid. I though the idea of the first one was driving the Akrid away from the planet? Either way, I'm excited for Lost Planet 2.

also when this game came out the 360 fanbase wasn't as big, I got a feeling this one will fare a lot better. It's one of them franchises that can get better with age and build up a strong fan-base.

Lost planet was one of the best action games to come out so far and LP2 is looking to be the same.

Pros:
-Best variety of weapons, Frisbee/Decoy nuffsaid
-Cool enviroments
-Good diverse of multiplayer games
-Can play against people all over the world
-Mechs that control well and fast
-Grappling hook
-Fun to play
-Huge Monsters to take down. Looking at U Worm

Cons:
-Knock down animation took to long to recover
-Drainage of life bar. Mechs I can understand
-Couldn't Swing with the grappling hook
-Couldn't revive health from down players online
-Controls could use some work
-Single player story wasn't all that great

Fix the cons in LP2 and this could be one hell of a game

Hmm, looks pretty cool. Quite different from the original, looks EDF2017 inspired, but squad based. Actually looks really quite good. I'm honestly suprised. Looks far better than anything shoved on the Unreal Engine in recent years on the 360, maybe the 360 is starting to prove it's worth now.
Just need to find out exactly why Capcom announced this on XBL, this still doesn't confirm an exclusive, imo.

Wasn't a fan of the first one, even played it on the 360 when it came out so I don't even know how it played out on the PS3 when it was finally ported.

Still though....LP2 may change my mind.

I for one rented LP1 after it dropped. Once I was done, bought the game. This game had a lot of polish, didn't have the best story or at least a story us Americans can relate to but did most things right.

This game packed a lot of action, and the way you upgraded from Average Mech to Uber Beast Mech; to fighting enormous bosses and the fire effects!!!--was awesome.

For a game released exclusively on the 360, and later on PC/PS3 it did quite well.

1.8 million on 360 alone. Almost 3 million for all platforms.

With co-op ?!? That looks pretty *frickin* sweet, they have definately improved upon the LP engine. Smartest thing they can do is dump the LP1 health system (having to constantly run around for antifreeze)... & hire a writer from Bioware.

There are plenty of mix comments in here but I assume we all agree the game looks amazing.Personally I was over the moon when I saw it was Lost Planet II.But it is different strokes for different folks,as I know some will disagree.I play Lost Planet COLONIES quite regulaly,off and on line.I just hope with the second coming they make the on line play just for the 360 or PS3 and PC instead of what they do now where you find yourself playing with PC players who are lagging or glitching and useing cheat codes.This for me is the only negative aspect I will flame on about the game,other then that I am looking forward to lets hope a enjoyable game.Good Hunting to all Snow Pirates & kill all Akrid.
