They aren’t for everyone and they know that. Get good

"By offering games with different mechanics or themes, FromSoftware could attract more casual players who may not be interested in or able to handle the difficulty of its core titles. A game that focuses more on narrative and discovery rather than combat difficulty could draw in this group."

yeah no thanks. They have a specific style of making games and they don't compromise on it, that's what makes them so popular and now this guy is saying they should stop doing that and make the game for players who don't like their games. Also Souls games are very much based around discovery, except you don't get it shoved in your face like with every other game and that is refreshing and it has very much a narrative in the same way it does it's exploration, the 2 are linked with eachother so let's not have them make games that every other studio already does, it's not that hard to understand. This bs with the game needs to be for everyone is what's causing games to get worse, in turn the games will be made for no one because you want to please everyone.

Yea but they could take a break from souls-like and make another 3D Dot-like. Funny how you and most From fans have a problem with people asking for a break from the usual formula but don't realize y'all are basically gatekeeping. I'm all for a game about exploration from FROM without the grind of Souls. They build some amazing worlds to get lost in and if they made something less Souls and more focused on the other aspects of their games then that would probably be pretty successful for them.

if they want to make a 3d dot heroes 2, i fully support them, but they shouldn't do it because they want to attract a bigger audience, they should do it because they think they can make an amazing game and that in turn will attract a bigger audience instead of having them make games to tick some boxes on your inclusivity agenda for every type of audience.

I'm always down for developers trying new things. No dev should be stuck doing one type of game. I'd love for them to do more silly shit like metal wolf chaos or another action game like otogi. Try new things and maybe one or more of those new ideas blows up too and then you'd have even more money makers to work with instead of just relying on the one or 2 series you've been doing for decades

Make what you want but don’t chase casuals.

"FromSoftware has mostly developed action RPGs recently and has shown versatility with games like Armored Core"

Who wants to tell the journo?

To be fair, there are also human made games that release and lack any fun at all either.

But all of the great games have been made by humans

One is by choice, the other is a feature.

Guild Wars 2 been playing for 14yrs, 1st beta. This is just one company I support, Arenanet and NCSoft, even though I torrent, there are a few PC companies I will buy from. "PlayStation’s Horizon MMO spin-off, Horizon Steel Frontiers." I feel this will be good, NCSoft is a good developer/publisher.
