According to SteamDb charts, more people are playing Skyrim than Starfield, and that’s unlikely to change without a major Starfield update.

Starfield developer Bruce Nesmith explains that the sci-fi RPG is still a great game despite its faults, it's just not as good as the studio's past.
Yes, finally. The goddamn procedural gen and the random fetch quests/contracts that were all essetially the same
Still haven't played this but interested to see what they're cooking for the second expansion. It would be great to see them turn it around like FO76 but from what I can tell, most of the quibbles were due to the engine and tech so I doubt they'll be able to fix a lot of that.
The UI was the bigger problem imo tied into the fact that they felt the need to interrupt the player every five minutes with a wall of text telling them how to play.
The player was given zero leash to just figure anything out and it felt like I was studying for a test trying to figure out how to play the game.
Six hours in and the game was still pausing and forcing me to do a guided tutorial I had enough.
If the game took a breath of the wild approach where it taught you how to use the tools in game and streamlined the menus it could have been far better
Bethesda reveals new Starfield story DLC, free content, and gameplay improvements, including changes to space travel and new systems.
I wonder how they handle the space travel, because for it to improve the game it would require a big overhaul and a lot of work. It's not just a matter of flying from a to b in realtime, interesting stuff needs to happen on those stretches.
But I do hope they do something substantial. Having interesting space exploration might not fix the game but it would improve it.
Too Little to late to save this dumpster fire of a game. They have to embrace a new game engine and overall storytelling backbone to win real Space Opera RPGs players back IMO ...

The Starfield modding community has made one of our favorite hubs in the game finally feel like a living, breathing town.
It's the better game 🤷♂️
I can't see how they can make Starfield an enjoyable game without a massive rebuild, better off waiting for Starfield 2. They need Flyable ships not just ones you pivot around a awful skybox, actual exploration, interesting missions that aren't just fast traveling to the next part, interesting companions, custom worlds not endless copy and past structures containing the same bad guys with the same loot in the same place, make the game look interesting as I've never seen anything so styleless and bland, make the cities you visit larger than a small village and one important thing that a space game needs, actual space travel.
I´m glad that´s not the picture on Xbox!
Starfield continues to be Bethesda´s most popular game on Xbox throughout 2024 even without any expansion, dlc or official mod support!
And that´s what matter most for us, Xbox console gamers: more RPG on Xbox getting love from the community.
MS wins either way.
How surprising.
