I really don't get why anyone would bother with a pro controller by a third party for the PS5. Because they all share the same issue, they don't have the features that are exclusive to the Dualsense. And when you are paying more than $200 for a controller and it can't even do parity with a $70 one, you more or less don't have a reason to bother.

The Switch and the Xbox use more commonly found features. So a pro controller by Nacon or however, might make sense. You get better parts + customization + all the features of the base controller. But that is just not true for the PS5.

Garethvk977d ago

It is like those custom ones that are $249.99 and up.

GoodGuy09976d ago

You're only missing out on the dualsense haptic feedback features which really... isn't on the mind of pro controller enthusiasts.

The dualsense edge has that part covered if you really want those features.
Hall sensors and a 10+hr battery is a good sacrifice for dualsense features for those that won't mind it.

Vits976d ago

The point is I don't get what is exactly on the mind of that "pro controller enthusiast" when their "pro" controller doesn't even have parity with a normal controller. And the rest of the features are stuff that you can get on normal controllers on other platformers for much less. Like being impressed by Hall sensors and a 10-hour battery is just sad. You can find a $70 controller available for Switch and PC that also features those, back buttons and customization.

Again I'm not against "pro" controller as a whole. But I find it kind of offensive to categorize something like this Nacon controller as one when it can't even do the same as a basic controller.

Angyobangyo976d ago

@Vits
"I find it kind of offensive..."
bruh, it's a controller, not a war crime.

Vits976d ago

@Angyobangyo

Yeah, because "offensive" is the word that comes to mind when discussing war crimes.

WTF is wrong with you?

Zeref976d ago

These features aren't needed by "PRO'S" though. First thing most of them do is turn off the vibration. Can't imagine any pro would want to use gyro aiming either or the special triggers.

Vits976d ago (Edited 976d ago )

Then what are the features that a "pro" controller needs? From my point of view, a "pro" controller has to be able to do exactly the same things as a normal controller in a reliable manner + be customizable. Is not exactly hard and if a "pro" is not going to use those features, then just turn it off. But the value proposition has to be there otherwise is a product that is passing itself as "pro" selling basic shit like hall sensors and 10hr battery as something impressive.

I wish third parties started making some more slimmer controllers

After a few years with the duelsense I still don't like how it feels in the hand particularly the handles it feels like it's goong to slip out of my trip and I really miss how nice the ds4 felt to hold.
Sure I adjust and get used to it to but the ds4 felt like an extension to my hands.
If they could incorporate feedback into the triggers it would be the perfect controller.

But if I had the choice to play using the ds4 or duelsense on ps5 games I'd probably chose the ds4

I know I'm not alone I've seen a few Reddit communities dedicated to this to

Out of every controller on every system for me the ds4 is the king followed by switch pro, 360, and then maybe the duelsense

badz149975d ago

Have to agree with you there. DS4 with the back buttons attachment is by far the best controller I have ever used. I was ffeling kinda bummed that they didn't include the back buttons port on the DS5. Such a lost opportunity IMO

gold_drake975d ago

also hard disagree.
i have big hands and the ps3 and 4 controllers always felt abit too small.

Dandalandan117976d ago

If they would release a version with haptics and adaptive triggers then I'd get one

andy85976d ago

I do like this. The off-set sticks don't bother me as I use both controllers. It's odd that a PS5 Pro controller would use an Xbox layout though

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing31d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9231d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit31d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing31d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9231d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
