Bethseda details Fallout 3 DLC

Bethesda's detailed its Fallout 3 DLC, promising that Operation Anchorage will expand the game by roughly four to five hours.

The content will cost 800 points and is pencilled in for a January release. It will see you fight the Chinese red army and liberate the town of Anchorage via an in-game simulator. The mission will focus on stealth and a new 'Covert Ops' perk will be available to the player.

Operation Anchorage "will include new weapons, armor and achievements! It's full of top-secret technology used by both sides during the war, which the player will of course be able to use throughout the main game as well," said Fallout 3 lead producer Jeff Gardiner to IGN.

Hit the link for much more including some details on two more expansion packs, Broken Steel and The Pit.

Where is the trophy patch?? Anyone know?

Nathan Drake6394d ago

Maybe they'll work on it then...?

Pennywise6394d ago

lol!!! I would like to play a decent RPG that is not turn based. I am not a trophy ho, but they did announce it didnt they?

thereapersson6394d ago

Bethesda doesn't really care about the PS3 version of the game. All the money is in the 360 and PC versions.

Mr_Bun6394d ago

They did announce that they were working on it but didn't give any date

is it any good? gears2, l4d, cod:waw keep me pretty busy and this christmas mgs4, lbp, and uncharted should keep me even more busy. dunno if ill get a chance to play this until sometime next year.

Cheeseknight286394d ago

It's a great game, but I would suggest buying the 360 or PC version so you can get the DLC.

Proxy6394d ago

I doubt I will have finished the main quest by the time the DLC comes out.

Mainly because I'm playing L4D, Little Big Plannet, TF2, and other games.

I just usually don't find Fallout 3 to be worth the time.

Just my opinion.

DA_SHREDDER6394d ago

Its not a bad game, but its not better then Morrowind or Oblivion. I dont know why Besethda wants to revitalize the series for. Fallout isnt the series that made them popular. On the other hand, I would rather make the games I wanted to make instead of what other people wanted if they were gonna buy it all anyways. It sorta sucks though. I was hoping for a game in the Elder Scrolls series. This game is seriously depressing, and ugly to top it off.

I finally started playing the game last Friday, and have had a hard time getting anything else done because of it. It's far more enjoyable than Oblivion for me, due to a much less clumsy combat system which is a huge part of both games.

The only real complaint I have about the game is that it's just too easy even with the difficulty cranked up. Then, with the difficulty at very hard, I gained more experience per kill, which meant my character level was maxed out before I even got far into the story. So, for the majority of the game my character has been the same with no real sense of progression, which I admit takes away some of the fun of exploration and dungeon (sewer) crawling.

Cheeseknight286394d ago

Elder Scrolls V is coming in a year or two, so just wait till then. Personally, I couldn't stand Oblivion, mainly because I got tired of all the ridiculously generic caves you found along the way. The subway stations all over Fallout 3 aren't quite as annoying, especially when you open one of the random terminals around and get some small anecdote on what happened in the station.

xaphanze6394d ago

It's more enjoyable than Oblivion, but it's way shorter. Why the heck are the side quests so low in number? Oblivion had tons and tons of side quests while Fallout 3 had barely....I can't believe I finished it so soon.

Would be nice if they had New Vegas ready as well, especially because of the show.

Hopefully this doesn't have the same performance issues as Oblivion Remastered.

cloganart156d ago

I haven't seen anything on these performance issues? What's been going on?

walken7156d ago

Probably the Unreal Engine issues, I skipped it for that reason.

Snookies12157d ago (Edited 157d ago )

Throw in all the DLC as well, like Oblivion and I'll definitely bite. I recall having one trophy left to unlock on the PS3 version with 100+ hours in my save. When my save file got corrupted, lol. Very sad day.

To be fair though, Bethesda was trash at Playstation ports anyway.

Michiel1989156d ago

all devs sucked at porting to ps3 for the first like 3 years because no one had experience with the cell architecture. Even 1st party took a long while to get proficient with it, the difference between uncharted 1 and 3 is massive for example.

Extermin8or3_156d ago

Oh oh oh I can do this too. GTA 7 will be made at some point in the future. Fallout 5 will enter development in the future too

jznrpg156d ago

Everyone there should know most gamers want New Vegas and Morrowind more than anything.

Christopher156d ago

Which is why we won't get them. Gotta keep floating "support this one and it might happen".

BlaqMagiq1156d ago

Can't wait. Won't have to go back to my PS3 to play this when it comes out.

Fallout 3 remastered on the Nintendo Switch 2 is what we deserve, not the worst Fallout game

Fallout Day's disappointing news that Fallout 4 is coming to Switch 2 is a shame, as this 17-year-old entry is more deserving of a new port.

Why exactly do you think you deserve it??

Phoenix76228d ago

Fallout 4 isn't the worst game in the franchise. It's either Fallout 76 or Fallout BOS that's the worst.

gigoran8228d ago

PC and all other modern consoles never got a remaster of 3, but obviously the switch 2 was the tipping point to make it a reality... ahuh

1nsomniac228d ago

Meh, I thought 3 was garbage. I'm not a great fan of the franchise to be fair. They're like B-Movie films, really shallow and janky. 4 was definitely one of the better ones though.

UltimateOwnage228d ago

So the article makes a snippy entitled statement and acts like that is going to encourage a publisher to give them what they want. Okay.

Give us FO3 with all the dlc remastered like ESO. Load times faster, quality of life improvements, gun play improvements

I believe it shouldn't just be graphical they should make improvements where they can to make the game better. A simple face lift isn't what's needed

ZeekQuattro416d ago

Still my favorite one. I remember getting a digital copy of FO3 when I got FO4(XBO). It was nice to finally play a stable version of the game. Then when I got a Series S it was an even better expierence. Quick resume and FPS boost made it feel like a whole new game. Updated gunplay would be very welcome though. One of the few things FO4 did better.
