Doesn't the Switch Lite have gyroscopic motion too? I don't actually own one as I've been perfectly content with my regular Switch, but my friends own Lites and I think I read somewhere that it does. If so, even most motion-controlled minigames shouldn't be too difficult. Of course, the entire Lite would have to be tilted and moved about vs just a Joycon on a regular model Switch, but if it's doable then it's an option. I've heard it's possible to pair a Joycon with a Lite too, though that would require a separate purchase.

Add Mario Party on a Lite to the list of things I'm unlikely to ever try, but it would still be interesting to know how that actually works.

The Switch Lite still has gyroscope motion, but the minigames in Super Mario Party require you to do very weird things with it, so you wouldn't even be able to see what was happening on screen while you're participating in the minigames.

Though, fun fact, if you pair joycons to the Lite then you can, in fact, play Super Mario Party. The same probably goes for most of the games on here. But...I just couldn't imagine that being fun on such a tiny screen.

Basically this list isn't a list of games that don't actually run on the Switch, because they all will run and can be played with a separate purchase. But why in gods name would you want to. The exception is Labo. That game doesn't work in the Switch light because you can't actually place the Switch Lite in the Labo constructions. The article pretty much explains all of this though.

Thanks for clearing that up. I don't actually see myself playing Super Mario Party that way anyways. It just seems weird to me that a Nintendo first party title wouldn't have control options to optimize the experience for one of their alternate model Switches. I know Super Mario Party came first, but you would think a patch would have been released after the Lite came out to remedy a huge issue like that.

Oh well, I'll count my blessings that I have a mainline model Switch. I'm definitely not going to recommend that particular game to the friends who only own Lites.
