I’m amazed that this is now a 5 year old game, this gen feels like it’s barely just got going.
Good review, but mostly struck that we take it as read that a game that has a stated length of “8-12 hours (main story), 15-20 hours (story + side content and trophies)” is talked about as a short game.
That’s because we’re still playing damn PS4 games. This is hands down the worst generation I’ve ever experienced. It used to be that when a generation came along it was a new era of gaming. The PS2 era wasn’t cross-gen’ing with PS1 and PS1 wasn’t, uh… well, you get the picture.
Can’t wait to buy a PS6 to play a majority of PS5 games.
That's why people bought the Switch 2, to buy a brunch of upgraded Switch 1 games... This gen as been so awful, hopefully it will be somewhat saved, by the end of this gen by eastern and indie Devs with games like Wukong, Stellar Blade, expedition 33.and some future releases
I agree regarding the comments about game length. On a whole, the length of a game is a rather superficial way of judging it's value for money.
And it's also very subjective. For me, under 8 hours feels like a short game. 8-20 hours is a 'good length'. Anything more I consider to be a long game (and if I'm not really invested, long games risk me losing interest quickly).
I’m with you, 6-10 hours is pretty much my sweet spot, and with the amount I game now being a lot less than when I was a kid, that still equals probably 2-3 weeks of gameplay.
Insomniac Games mastered the PS5, and now they've upgraded their games for PS5 Pro, bringing new ray tracing effects and performance modes.
SpiderMan 2 came out last year. You expect Insomniac to pump out games every year ?
Insomniac released ratchet in 2021, Spider-Man in 2023 and people would still say they aren’t releasing enough games. It’s insane the expectations people have just because things are delivered so easily to them. No balance
No idea why you people are so square.. it’s not Insomniac who released the Pro it’s sony .. if Sony want people to buy the console they need to show new games. Enhancements of existing games is a given thing everyone would expect

You both bring up good points. However, slow game releases are a natural result of increased hardware capabilities. We've seen this happen more each gen.

I do not agree.. Sony is playing lazy and spilling money into gaas because there is no competition.. competition last two gens is what made Sony step it up the way they did.

I’ve been playing since the Sega Master System. I love Spiderman 2. There’s too much going for it to be a simple expansion pack. I felt Miles Morales could fall into the expansion pack range.
If you didn’t like it, it’s fine. That’s what’s great about opinions, there are no wrong ones, just different ones.
You guys have to understand, they don’t have anything even close to it on his preferred system. There is a whole psychology behind his comment.

It sounds like you’re hard to please vs gamers being easy to please. You mentioned great games. Games whose sequels had very similar gameplay with each other with very minimal changes or upgrades.

On topic: In my region the base game is $80. Still not low enough for me to dive in. Not that Im in a rush. Havent even finished the 1st one’s dlc yet.
The map still has asset's buildings the the first game its like madden yeah same stadium but can you change that madden 14 logo?
Not to mention they never added shield basses basically unique interiors you can explore off missions or add in jersey.

Beat the game 100% inb4 patches and updates 😏
Looks like the fixed the 4k HDR bug, I was dropping to like 10fps running 4k HDR Quality graphics mode. Had to not play it a few days because i was midway through the game and didn't want to start over in high hopes of that resolving it. Just booted it up earlier today and it seems to all have been resolved.
It would be nice if I could download the updates for the disc version.
