by the time you go in home and then go in a game it will take so much of your time, what is the dam point. wast of my life i think. i need more games not home more beautiful looking games i can play and have fun lots of fun, like a good night in the bed with the wife.

Its funny how wrong you are. First you don't have to use it. And meeting up with people playing pool waiting for your friends to come online. Making a group, watching a movie together, just making new friends. It's a better experience. It's like when everyone goes to the main square in an MMO to meet up and wait for a party to join or to socialize and talk about things in the game or real life. It's a lot of potential and advertising will truly help as you may see games you never knew about. I already got someone to tell me a pretty decent description of MK vs. DC which helped me to decide not to buy it.

I went to my first home party tonight.

I'm actually impressed by Home from a people watching point of view. It's not something that's for me, most of my friend's list (on both consoles) are people I know IRL or from forums (not people I've played on PSN or XBL), but I can definitely see positive aspects to it.

The goal of Home is social networking. Being able to sit down and just talk to find people who may be interesting to go from conversationalists on Home to gamers on your friend list. And from that goal, it's a huge, huge sucess. PSN, through Home, now feels like a community. What it lacks in features (which are means to the end) it makes up for in the fact people can stand around dancing and voice/text chatting before launching into games, either from Home or via adding to your friend's list.

People will use Home to meet new people. I would use Home to play games with people I already know.

My friend spent 2 hours on it last night just talking to various people and, as far as I'm concerned, Home hasn't just been a triumph, it's proven to be a useful tool. The weirdest thing? As little as there is to do, it's an icon I find myself clicking on every so often between games.

I only got my key yesterday night so I haven't had much time on Home but even now I can see the potential. It's a good way to wait for all your mates to turn up before you go for a game of COD4 or whatever and you have something to do and people to meet/talk to/play bowling or pool with while you do so. If the publisher comtent goes how it should I can see Home becoming a real advantage for PS3 as it's a really easy way to meet people and talk about games and stuff(I had a really long chat with these guys about WaW v COD4 this morning and it was nice to find some bright and insightful gamers of a wide age range). As it grows in features it will improve hand over fist, I was never that excited by it tbh and I've been really turned round by the way it works and it's future possibilties. People should really give it a chance-that includes all colour of fanboy too cos if it does catch on both MS and Ninty will try to do the same type of thing.

i can't wait to see all sony artists (and hopefully all artists worldwide from movies and music industry or arts or just about all fields of endeavor) to hang-out there with gamers (and non-gamers).

and i can clearly see how all types of democracy, male and female, will flock to it when all spaces (stores, publishers and developers, provider-specific arcades, educational e-museums, motorshows, artwork galleries, damn even pizza company!, etc) opens up.

here is what i want to see more from Home aside from the above-mentioned:

1. Launchpad for new album/singles for all music artists
2. Pizza delivery, i don't want making a call, i'll do it in Home
3. Wheel of Fortune only for Home users and the there will be a prizes (monetary or not)
4. Games convention space (just like what they did at TGS) so that those who cannot go, will be at least there virtually seeing the booth as they are (and this is not limited to Sony booth only but for other publishers/developers)

that's what i can think for now.

My friends list has grown alot, but aslong as they keep the content coming, everything fresh then yeah - it'll be used alot.

How can NXE compare to PLAYSTATION@HOME, NXE is a joke.

I've been in the home beta for a week or so and it sure offers a lot of potential. All the smack talk about in just being a virtual dolls house is utter pants. I like the fact that everyone there as the fact they own a ps3 in common, so if you strike up a conversation about games you won't have to put up with the wonderful firstnight or the mart talking utter balls about the games they don't have.

I guess as more companies get involved and show case their products and news many people who own a ps3 and want to stay informed about the future games for ps3 will have their very own community in which to interact with out having to deal with the mindless trolls.

in what wait is home similar to xbox live?

Xbox live - I insert a COD4 into my xbox 360 and I see that 7 of my friends are online.... I create a party and send invites so we all can play COD4 online. If I want to play another game I will keep the party and swap the game and invite the party to the new game.

Home - I walk around a virtual world where I walk around an meet new friends, shop clothing, organize my apartment (basically similar to 2nd life)

it's true that Home may provide a feature where you can invite friends to your apartment where they can probably play games together.... but xbox live is a copletely different approach... Home is a virtual social 3D world... XBox live is a set set of features that allow gamers/user to play, connect, communicate with other gamers/user regardless of where and what they are doing...

for example, if microsoft would to bring 2nd life to the xbox 360... xbox live features would allow me to be in a party; talking to my friends while wondering and doing my thing in the virtual world while still conneted and talking to my friends in the party...

This in no way shape of form undermind Home... it's simply not the same... so I fail to understand why people compare them...

You don't need Home or more "beautiful looking games", you need an ENGLISH CLASS.

I have a PS3 and will d/l Homes when it is available but I don't have time, interest, nor having enough games to play on my PS3 to get me to use my PS3 more than my 360. Fact is I think Sony s trying to give you the world (ie..Blu Ray...Blue Tooth...Home...and Long term Promises) when what really matters are the games. And right now Sony is more interested in taking control of out Living Room buy throwing Blu Ray, Home, and Internet Browser and the Kitchen Sink but fail to connect to the gamers. I am a gamer and loves game but Home will never surpass XBL because XBL was built as a tool for ease of use and connect you straight to your games Online seamlessly without this Virtua Lobby BS.
