I'll enjoy mostly any game with black leads in them. Gamer world needs diversity.

RazzerRedux2090d ago (Edited 2090d ago )

I don't care about diversity for diversity's sake (not saying that's what you are saying). I like diverse stories and characters from diverse storytellers. This game is just that. This isn't some virtue signaling white dev who is shoehorning a black character in because he is meeting standards implemented by a "Department of Inclusion" of some massive corporation. This dev is telling the story he wants to tell with characters he wants. Love it.

I like Denzel Washington's take. I believe he is describing what we are seeing here with this game.

I didn't read or listen the interview I was just trying say I would like to see more black leads in games.

RpgSama2090d ago

I'll enjoy any game that It's good regardless of color, gender, sexuality or even if it's not an actual human as the lead.

blackblades2090d ago

Same here dont know why your attacking me with that like I didn't.

justsomeoffdude2090d ago

why should race matter at all in a story.. does the lead's race have any impact on gameplay or the story telling? Sadly most of the people even making this an issue can't even really explain why they believe it's an issue.

blackblades2090d ago (Edited 2090d ago )

And all I was saying I would like to see more black leads in video games because I'm black and dont see much of us in them and it'll be cool to see them. I can say you people targted me just cause I personally wanted to see more of my skin color in games. I never said anything bad about not enjoying a game with whatever the guy said above.

justsomeoffdude2089d ago

Guess what @blackblades??? I'm black as well. Instead of expecting companies that are predominantly white putting black characters in games THEY ARE making, encourage black game devs by buying their games. Ever heard of games like Aurion: Legacy of the kori-odan (made by african studio) or swimsanity? I still buy these games even though they are not the kinds of games I play just to support them.

Deathdeliverer2089d ago

I know what you mean. They after you (I’m guessing) because you said “you’ll enjoy any game with a black lead“ like just because the lead was black you will most likely like the game. I fully agree that I’d like to see more races save the world than the usual fare, but ALSO have great story, gameplay, and so on. Game can have more black people than wakanda but if the fun isn’t there, it isn’t there 🤷🏿‍♂️. So yeah, people took it literal, I know what ya meant. Of course you want fun and all those things, you’d just get a extra kick by finally seeing a character that isn’t the usual fare save the day.

why have hyper realistic CGI; when the game looks cartoonish??

Hideo Kojima put Low Roar in Death Stranding because gamers need more culture in their lives

It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.

In the past 15 years - how many of these accusations around the globe in the gaming industry have eventually turned out false?

I'd say none. None that I can remember.

I really don't know what's been going on at Xbox. I bet there's a ton people could talk about but locked behind NDA's.

abstractel1d 2h ago (Edited 1d 2h ago )

I don't know if this will get me booted off but it's unfortunately a pretty big problem. At least it used to be, I can't speak for the last ~5 years but doubt things have changed. To be clear, there are great studios too but my experience at a few of the top tier american studios, it's pretty bad. Sometimes it's isolated to departments, sometimes it's just toxic competition between very talented artists wanting a certain title, but often it trickles down from the top. I will say that the last studio I worked at was fantastic and that was definitely due to the leadership.

I wish he went into more detail with examples of how he and the other graphic artists were harassed during the time mentioned.

Yea, I bet he gladly took that severance agreement too. Not saying there isnt any truth to it his claim, but you never get the whole story in situations like these.Anyway, this is just malarkey imo and isn't gaming news. Can we get something news worth discussing for a change.

Notellin16h ago

That's because when you take the settlement/severance you aren't allowed to talk about the things agreed to in the paperwork.

Solved it for you. The only people who will ever know the entire story have paid to keep it hidden forever.

Reaper22_23h ago

Nobody really cares. These complaints are a dime a dozen. One every other day.
