The 2017 sequel to the CRPG hit Divinity: Original Sin garnered plenty of praise. How does it play today? Jump Dash Roll takes a frank look back in today's Brutal Backlog review.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 now has current gen versions available for Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
People may not understand this but you get so much gameplay value out of a Larian game! It is basically 100s of possible hours with all the classes, decisions etc.
Great replay value, would suggest it to anyone who likes CRPGs.
I started bg3 again a month ago, to remember why I hated it. 100 hours later not only is it one of my favorites but i downloaded divinity 2 not even realizing it was just dropped for ps5.

The Dungeons and Dragons genre has seen a big wave of evolution through these 3 titles that defined the genre's success and direction.

Jack writes: "The Spring Sale is currently taking place, spanning from March 14th until March 21st. Some of the most popular games on the market are having their price slashed and we’ve hand-picked a few."
These kinds of lists are often terrible for me, mainly because I either already have the games, or I'm just not interested in some of them. Great for people new to PC games or people who haven't kept up with game releases.
I've played through DOS2 on PC multiple times and bought it again on Switch. My take is pretty much the opposite of the reviewer each step of the way.
For story, I always felt like the early story was cliche until the twists started to materialize in the 2nd half. But it may also depend on who your main was in each, if you went with a preset character.
For gameplay, if you were on the lowest difficulty and got beat down that much, you were doing something very wrong. Even a halfway decently balanced team should make classic difficulty pretty manageable, let alone the lowest setting. Maybe if you're playing lone wolf and had a poorly specced character, than easy mode would be difficult, but I'm really at a loss to think of a party that would get dominated so much.
For those on the fence, it's considered one of the best rpgs this gen for a reason. There are tons of spoiler-free guides to help you set up a good team or character.
