Now Playing: Code Vein Demo | VGChartz

VGChartz's Jacob James; "The Code Vein demo left me about where I started before playing it - intrigued by an anime-style souls-clone, one that’s in serious need of balance and tightening up. I didn’t dislike my time with Code Vein, it just didn’t stand out enough to wow me. The core gameplay is fun, and the visual design choice is a nice change of pace. However, if this is a sample of the finished product, I’m left to wonder why it feels so unrefined. Here’s hoping the combat will deepen as you venture through the full retail version of the game."

Thats not true about coop. It is NOT mandatory to play through the game in coop. You can choose to go alone at the mistle. Its mandatory for the first part of the game because they have to at least show the feature off. Past that point, your free to go alone if you want.

Azfar from NoobFeed writes: Code Vein is a game that fans of complex RPGs, who also enjoy anime stories and customization, will appreciate. It doesn't replace Dark Souls, but it doesn't have to; it's a unique work of art in its own right.

Demon's Souls isn't Soulslike. It's the original Souls game. WTF? And Elden Ring?

Another Crab's Treasure simply is not.

All the journos claiming things are "Soulslike" simply don't know what that word means.

GeeEssEff466d ago

The term “Soulslike” has become ridiculously diluted. I have seen it used for games just because they are difficult.

Cacabunga466d ago

Reminds me of Doom like back in the days for every FPS game

blackblades466d ago (Edited 466d ago )

Yeah, souls, souls lite, souls like same goes for rogue.

anast465d ago

It's either AI or the writer doesn't know the subject matter.

robtion466d ago

I've played all of these bar the Crab one so not a very accurate title.

Nioh 1+2 imo are the best souls clone. Love the melee combat and ki system, really hoping team ninja doesn't abandon the IP and continue with a new title, hell just give us your take on the western fantasy setting for a new nioh game.

robtion465d ago

Yes Nioh 2 in particular is great. Also Wo Long (which is basically Nioh 3).

qalpha465d ago

Should have included 'Lies of P'. Seriously fun game.

Nacho_Z465d ago

That's what I was going to say, great game. Best non From Soulslike I've played.

jznrpg161d ago

Lies of P and Wuchang Fallen Feathers are best soulsikes to me. I slightly prefer Wuchang ut they’re both awesome. I’d say Black Myth Wukong too but it’s a little more action than most souls games but it could fit in there as well.
