Hopefully RE8 is good

No. never trust a game company to put out a good, uncompromised, product. Each new title, much a sequel, has to be judged as if from someone you've never heard of.

Otherwise we get the industry we've largely got now, of which many segments take us for granted. We get "Games as Services" and $90 DLC for $60 games.

Give me a Power Stone, Breath of Fire and a new D & D beat 'em up...plus throw in a Darkstalkers for good measures and I'll definitely forever be on board.

In the last couple of years, I've bought RE7, REMake 2, Dragon's Dogma (for the fourth time!) Megaman 11 and Monster Hunter World. Can't wait for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and I'm crossing my fingers they finally start work on Dragon's Dogma 2. Capcom's been crushing it lately.

And no one gives a F about Onimusha remaster? That game was a gem in PS2 and thank god for bringing it in PS4

When they release a good fighting game with no bs attached I'll trust them again.

I really want to start seeing the more experimental things they used to dabble in like Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance, GODHAND, Viewtiful Joe, etc. Not to knock what they've been doing lately cause damn they are killing it, i just used to love seeing all the different things coming from Capcom back in the day and would like to see that come back

If they get rid of Microtransactions in their games (especially SF5) then yes I'll trust them. They should go back to the DLC model. It worked (kind of). Although dead or alive 6's DLC is nuts. Nearly £100 for season pass 1? I'd love to have been a fly on the wall to see what meeting they must have had to have come up with that. They must have had some pretty good LSD for that meeting.

I'm enjoying RE2:R & RE7 was good,Onimusha Remastered is good & I just bought DMC5. Imo Capcom is doing fine.

Of course. Capcom is my favorite game company. I’ve enjoyed every game, they made this generation. Except for Monster hunter world. It just wasn’t my type of game.

They put passion into everything they make....except for their fighting games. lol.

sure Capcom recently released very good games but that doesn't give them a pass if they released a bad game in future

I never stop trusting them, I loved the strider remake, I loved SFV regardless what everyone else felt, I loved Resident Evil 7 and recently started enjoying Monster Hunter World WHICH is the first monster hunter game I actually liked playing.

I never cared for the dead rising series so they never lost me there because it never had me. I love Megaman games and can’t think of a Megaman game of late I haven’t liked. I even really enjoyed DmC so they have my trust period.

In my book, Capcom is on the green.

I loved RE7 and R2 Remake. I hope Athry make a Dino Crisis remake too.

Don't be the fanboy. I know they've been doing pretty good but its still the company that tried to turn RE into CoD.

RE7: im like yay they saved resident evil!
MHW: woah.. they actually put some work into MHW this is fantastic!
RE2 Remake: yep Capcom has their mojo back.
And now im about to play DMC 5 :)

no. not really. besides monster hunter world there hasn‘t been much good stuff that was worth the while.. close to zero.

If Days Gone turns out to be another great game by Sony, I think it's time to start trusting them also... I find ever since Capcom stopped doing exclusives for Microsoft is when they turned it around.

They have been the success story of late. Among all the bull that other Devs are pulling like EA, Activision etc.

Genuinely love the fact they are focusing on amazing single player focused games, Resident Evil's downfall broke my heart, genuinely love that franchise and they brought it back better than ever.

Never played devil may cry but I know it means a lot to the gamers that play it, and it looks like they've made another absolute gem

Please please please, other companies take note. All it takes to be successful is give your fans what they want, and they will buy your products.

Quality games, proper PC support, and good business practice is what makes a good relationship between companies and consumers. Capcom is on the right track and I hope they can keep this up.

It just shows that even successful companies can lose sight of what matters but being able to pivot and get back on track is pretty amazing!

I can think of a few companies that I wish could do what Capcom has done.

DMC5 is fun, provided you can look past a few of the games graphic shortcomings. Not kidding. Collision detection is very low-res to help framerates, and character shadows on characters are an absolute joke when not in direct sunlight. (Jump on top of Nico's van in the demo stage and look down at shadows under Nero's feet to see exactly how the team pulled off another framerate saving trick. You'll laugh once you realize just what they did!) There's lots more, but seriously, this game is more than the sum of it's parts. MVCI wasn't a bad game, it just was lazy and the put the effort into the wrong things (story mode - seriously, nobody cared and nobody wanted it). SFV sucked when it first came out, and TBH it still is pretty rancid if you're a day one adopter. Megaman 11 was good. Capcom got lazy for a while and it showed. But truth is they're on the right path now. Hopefully they continue the trend and when MVC4 comes out, it's what everybody was hoping for when we got MVCI.

I trust Capcom over EA and Activision any day

As a dedicated Capcom hater I have to give credit where it's due:

RE7, Monster Hunter, RE2 REMAKE, DMC 5 have all been pretty good.

However I'm still salty about the colossal MESS that was Street Fighter V and Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
