Am 2.5 hours and think I have seen all the variety it has to offer already.

Hungryalpaca2655d ago

It’s really not. Nothing really changed ost 2 and a half hours. The weapons and gear you unlock isn’t any different. It’s just “stronger”. The level design doesn’t really change. The bosses are all recycled all the way through the game.

LordoftheCritics2655d ago

The demo covered most of the game anyways.

Hungryalpaca2655d ago

You’ve really only missed the strong holds which are the best parts but 2 of the 3 are recycled anyway. So you’ve pretty much seen the whole thing. I’m at 19 hours. Feel like I wasted my time.

He summarizes by saying he's enjoying his time playing the game so far though it can stand to use improvements while adding more to the gameplay. I'm a few hours in & I've been enjoying it so far.

I have played over 30 hours. I am taking the time to listen to characters (like you would in mass effect), reading emails (like you would in mass effect), and finding items for more information.

Where the game hurts is how fractured the gameplay and majority of the story are. Mass Effect and Dragon Age wove story into action beautifully. We lose that at the expense of multiplayer most likely.

The 10 hr trial had people mashing through the story, and rushing to get into the gameplay. Which could be why some people are confused.

The shame of the story is that the first 12-16 hours are boring, after that it gets interesting.

Is it perfect? No. It has been a pleasure to play though. For me: it’s currentky a 7/10 because I expect more from a BioWare story. The March story update Needs to deliver.

Could Anthem live on? Tech allowing local server hosting existed, former executive producer says

BioWare's multiplayer shooter Anthem was terminated this week because EA no longer wanted to maintain servers for people to play the game on, and without them, no one can play the game. But the former executive producer of Anthem has revealed that BioWare had technology working, close to the game's release, that would enable us to host our own servers to play the game on.

EA/Bioware should allow us to host our own servers to let this game live on.

I'd be fine just playing it as a localhost and dumb as rocks AI bots. Just give me the choice.

Never buy online games unless there is some kind of refund policy.

Only days remain before EA will switch off the servers to BioWare's ill-fated multiplayer game

Time flies (like a Javelin suit): there are only 10 days left to play BioWare's ill-fated multiplayer game Anthem before the servers are switched off, presumably forever.

In my opinion, Anthem was a good IP that was worthy of a no man's sky or cyberpunk 2077 treatment.

To this day, their sub reddit is active and I was able to get into a game quickly a few weeks ago when I booted it up.

It is a shame EA and Bioware didn't want to give the game the overhaul it needed to turn it into a competent looter shooter.

GamerRN152d ago

They were close to releasing the overhauled version and then EA cancelled it

TheGamersDojo150d ago

I wholeheartedly agree. If ANY game deserved to get the rework/relaunch it deserved it was this one. More than literally any other. Even over FFXIV, No Mans Sky etc.

SlothLordPootus153d ago

I just finished this up a couple days ago. Although it's a bit repetitive and the story is meh, the game feels great to play. Even if you can only hop on the game for a couple hours before it shuts down, I think it's worth it.

chicken_in_the_corn153d ago

Really enjoyed this. Shame to see it go.

Software_Lover152d ago

I didnt know servers were still up. I could have been playing!!!

2nd comment attempt (1st doesn’t appear & this may register as duplicate):

They can spend billions to buy or get bought but they can’t spend a fraction of that to fix or overhaul a game that could have been truly special, smh.
