I recently picked the game up again after a few months break and started a new game on creative mode and it's so freeing to be able to explore as you wish without being dragged down by the grind. Discovering and exploring new worlds was always what I enjoyed and I used to feel weighed down by all the resource requirements and blueprints and whatnot. The mechanics of the game aren't interesting enough to make the grind for them enjoyable.
This story is basic, and the picture used is way outdated. I wonder how much the author really knows about this. For instance, upgrade names are just random techie-sounding blurbs. What matters is the upgrade class (C, B, A, S) and stats (which vary randomly within a certain range). They also greatly improve the efficiency, or fuel economy, they stack, provide bonuses when installed adjacent to each other, and can be installed both in main ship inventory and tech inventory, for a total of 6 upgrades, plus a unique one that the player can craft from a blueprint. Anyone interested in learning about NMS is much better off on its reddits and its wikis.
