I want to be but I'm worried it's just a expanded, console Fallout Shelter...we saw nothing other then the Vault.

if it is I'd be annoyed a new game after Fallout 4 is not a full on single player Fallout title like New Vegas but just building game.

Hopefully they reveal more at E3

DVAcme2913d ago

76=2076=ANCHORAGE.

That date is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to significant in the Fallout timeline for a glorified Fallout Shelter.

kneon2913d ago

Actually I'd be ok with a beefed up Fallout Shelter. I could never be bothered to finish the last Fallout, and it's exceedingly rare for me to not finish a game. I think I'm almost done, I just need to pick which faction to side with. I just lost interest as the story wasn't very interesting.

If they are going to do another traditional style Fallout then they need to have a better story, dialog, voice acting and more compelling characters. It could really do with a shakeup of the Fallout formula. I don't want to have another Preston sending me on endless, pointless missions.

It's already been reported it's just a Fallout 4 asset flip with nothing but the building system barely anyone liked. If you are expecting a single player RPG prepare to stay far away because you won't find that here. I should just say, if you are a fan of Fallout, stay away from this.

BeOpenMinded2913d ago

I'd be annoyed with another full entry to fallout over a new elder scrolls.

Rachel_Alucard2912d ago

@beopenminded

Well prepare to be disappointed again because a new Elder scrolls isn't even in development since ESO is doing so well. That was part of the same leaks that revealed this game and Rage 2

Why? The trailer showed nothing substantial and Its the same dated engine...

Not to much to go by at this point.

Paytaa2913d ago

Vault 76 is a control vault, meaning no strange experiments happened in it. Vault 76 was also designed to open 20 years after the end of the war but the Pip Boy in the trailer says it's the year 2102 which is 25 years after the war. Also, supposedly takes place in West Virginia. Speculate if you will.

I'm hoping for no voiced protagonist and actual skill checks if this is to be compared to a main level entry.

Gameplay of 4, RP elements of New Vegas and the sense of dread and hopelessness of 3 would make a perfect Fallout game but I don't trust Bethesda to deliver that dream. We'll see at E3.

@Paytaa

"Gameplay of 4, RPG elements of New Vegas and the sense of dread and hopelessness of 3 would make a perfect Fallout game but I don't trust Bethesda to deliver that dream. We'll see at E3."

I'd like that aswell but I can't see them doing that with an online game, too many other things online wise to think about. Unlike what people think it's not about pressing a few buttons and adding some code to allow co-op or online play.

HeyNowChillax2913d ago

While I had some fun, fallout 4 and that dated last gen engine just held it back for me. Unless they literally improve their game, this might be a bargin bin title for me while I'm getting through that snazzy looking Metro exodus.

Parasyte2913d ago

Don't be. Jason Schrier is saying that it is not a big game and will be some form of online game.

moomoo3192913d ago

When did he say its not a big game? Its probably that "bleeding edge AAA freemium game" that got leaked, like a Fallout online. That would be sick tbh

Rachel_Alucard2913d ago

@moomoo

"freemium"

Yeah that does make me sick alright.

moomoo3192913d ago

@rachel_aluchard
Fair play :) i cant see this being a free game. Maybe the mmo model like ESO

War, war never ends.

zivtheawesome2913d ago

https://twitter.com/jasonsc... "From what I've heard, Fallout: 76 is an online game of some sort. Developed by BGS in both Maryland and Austin" my hype is automatically deflated after hearing it's an online game.

-Foxtrot2913d ago (Edited 2913d ago )

Online? Oh good grief.

Surprised they just didn't call it Fallout: Online then although maybe after the lawsuits and the like surrounding the Fallout Online title they decided to do something different to get around that.

I just find it funny when Bethesda last December did this

A Campaign to save Single Player Games...yet does Fallout 76 over a proper single player focused New Vegas spiritual sequel

zivtheawesome2913d ago

well, maybe they are also releasing starfield around the same time for single player gamers and 76 for MP gamers.

-Foxtrot2913d ago (Edited 2913d ago )

I can't imagine them releasing Starfield the same time as a Fallout game online or not...not to mention they usually reveal their games coming the same year. Can you honestly see Bethesda release a huge new single player game like Starfield so close to Red Dead Redemption 2? I can't...they'd want to be "big guns" out of anything in that release window

Would I want what you've suggested...of course, but realistically I can't see it happening

EDKICK2913d ago

@-Foxtrot
I would have much preferred a New Vegas style game or even 3/New Vegas remastered but I'm still at least curious about this game even if it is mp.

However Bethesda has completely followed that article about "saving single player games". Besides Sony first party who else has emphasized single player games like Bethesda? Wolfenstein, DOOM, Dishonored, Evil Within, Prey, Fallout, ES, Rage, multiple of those being fairly risky concepts, multiple of those getting sequels even if sales didn't match the critical acclaim. A few non AAA SP games by non-major Bethesda studios and we're gonna act like they haven't stuck the claim of "saving single player" smh

TyrellCorp2913d ago

@Ziv I hope you’re right man, BGS has been burning through the good faith of their fans. 7 years no new ES(will likely be 10+), creation club bs, and an abundance of FO4 mistakes. Now it looks like we’re getting a FO mp spinoff in the same old ass engine? BE3 needs to deliver, fingers crossed man.

showtimefolks2913d ago

Fox

If true I hope we at the very least get remaster of fallout 3 and new vegas with all the dlc

Elder scrolls online is doing well I am just surprised Bethesda game studios is behind this when they are not behind elder scrolls online

"Unnamed sources say..."
I again refuse to believe this just as I did with the CoD rumor, hope it isn't true this time...

zivtheawesome2913d ago (Edited 2913d ago )

nah it's jason from kotaku writing the article. if you can trust anyone with leaks it's him.

spicelicka2913d ago

What if it's Battle royale 0__o?

EDKICK2913d ago

I'm assuming this is the game from the ex Battlecry guys (now Bethesda Austin). So multiplayer would make sense. With them revealing this and Rage 2 before E3 I'm predicting something pretty big to be revealed during their show, either ES6 or Starfield and maybe even released this year. Their last show emphasized every game shown was released that year. As of now I don't know what they have for this year.

Interesting. I wonder just how different the game will be with this new direction. We'll see at E3.
