I really like the game but it can be a bit of the same old thing, drop, loot, run to escape blue zone which can take ages of running and seeing no one, get killed by sniper/camper and or the circling sharks of cars at the end, repeat.

No offense, but it sounds to me like you are just not good at the game. You have to learn to be in the zone not chase it. Dont shoot at likely unkillable targets, youll give away your position.

And always remember to reload.

When you drop from the plane is there a way to tell where the zone will be before you drop ?

No, it's repetitive, even if you are good. Some people just don't mind the repetitiveness.

@HyperMouse - circle is RNG but you can estimate an approximation based on flight path. Point being first circle period is a huge amount of time before circle closes. Get to circle early if you have issues with it. Then travel with it instead of chasing it. Be aware of vehicle locations on maps and where they most likely will be found. Keep an eye for said vehicles when dropping.

Position yourself to play the game instead of the game playing you. Make choices and stay with your plan as long as you can. You don't need to kill and shoot at everyone, you need to survive until the end. Often not shooting someone is equally or more so important than actually taking the shot.

So much variety in the single huge map that it can play out completely different each time. If you find it is not playing out completely different each map then likely that is because you yourself are forcing the issue to the point that it doesn't.

@bluefox755 Yes... 90% of the time, somewhere atleast partially in the center of the map (for the first zone). If you are too stupid to keep an eye on it, then you deserve to die.

Yeah, they Mario game is also repetitive. Run to the end of the level, jump on the heads of enemies, repeat. And Zelda. Find a dungeon, conquer it, repeat. Horizon Zero Dawn. Travel to an area, kill a robot, repeat. GTAV is repetitive. Steal a car, drive to an object, kill some guys, repeat. Destiny is repetitive. Shoot enemies, repeat. Madden is repetitive. Get the ball in the end zone, stop the opponent from scoring, repeat...

You can literally do that to every game when you strip it down to the bare essentials. Playing it is what makes each time unique, because in a detailed description you did way more than drop, loot, run, die....

I always had a feeling this game didn't have much staying power, it just invented a new game mode. In a year or two most games will have a battle grounds mode, it's just a new game mode like horde mode before it.

Except it didn't event a game mode at all. H1Z1 was prob the biggest but Arma 2 did battleroyale before it.

Krafton profits up to $171.5 million despite lowest quarter since 2020

From GI.biz: "Krafton, the Korea-based publisher behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, released its Q3 financial results alongside news on how it's expanding its collection of studios.

The company reported that it saw revenues of $328.5 million and net profits of $171.5 million, the latter marking a year-on-year improvement of 27%.

Krafton also announced it plans to acquire Neon Giant, the developer behind The Ascent, and open a new studio in Canada."
