Xenoblade Chronicles series composer Manami Kiyota has possibly finished the final orchestra recording for the next Monolith Soft title.

Almost 16,000 reviews on Steam currently has the game sitting on a very positive 90% Not sure if it has the player numbers but those who are playing seem to be enjoying themselves.
On Steam, you have to have bought the game, in order to play. On metacritic, ANYONE can review it. I'll leave it for you to decide which one matters more.
Replies(1)The game is really really bad. So generic boring and lifeless. UI is terrible. Bad and slow gameplay. Not sure who gives the go ahead for these games. Insane all that money companies just throw away for no reason. Nobody a asking for these games
You haven't played it. That much is apparent from your comment. Gameplay is FAR from slow and boring. I do agree the UI definitely needs to be re-worked. But then again, you're just repeating a complaint you're reading about, not actually experiencing.

Gunplay is the best thing about the game. To call it bad is wrong. Just because it isn't a twitch shooter doesn't mean it's slow, not everything has to play the same. Everything else is generic I agree.

The new studio founded by Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi is reportedly facing closure after publisher NetEase indicated that it will pull funding for its debut title.
One of my most wanted games after I saw the preview at the game awards. Fingers crossed that someone grabs this team or at least funds the studio.
They may have to defect from NetEase and start their own studio if at all possible
Sony should help out, they did a lot of damage to their reputation by closing bluepoint, this would go a little way to restoring it.

But more importantly, this is surprisingly one of those situations where I can weigh in with a personal anecdote. In my deeply unconventional life, I've met a grand total of two people that are Yakuza in my life (well...*were* is more accurate), both times in Shinjuku during different visits and eight years apart. They're fascinating people, and I remember something from them that might be relevant here: they're a bit thin-skinned. Not on a personal level, but flying too close to the organized crime sun gets a response. They don't really hide their existence, but they do engage in some reputation laundering to appear more innocuous than they are. My guess? There has been some pressure to kill this project. Like a Dragon doesn't take itself seriously and it makes them look fun. GOD looks to be a bit more...accurate, and I suspect it flies too close to the organized crime sun I'm talking about.
Sony, still being a longstanding Japanese corporation, probably has a lot of cultural cache. And if Nagoshi goes to Sony, I suspect they'll either say no upfront or would be talked into pulling support before long (which would do even more damage).
It's a shame because the game looks interesting, but this kind of thing comes with precedent. I would compare it to The Last Temptation of Christ ,or even Sony's own experience with The Interview.
